I've been using ruggedized phones from obscure Chinese brands for about ten years now and they've mostly been good. I've used 1 GB ram (underpowered), 2 GB (enough to use GPS navigation while driving with Google maps when I worked as a delivery driver), 3 GB and 4 GB (my past Cubot and now current Fossibot). The Cubot survived many drops, but little by little the screen developed issues. I've never had more than 4 GB on my phone, don't know what I'm missing (and used worse) so this seems fully adequate. Less than 4 GB econo phones are still on the market. My last phone was an older version of Android and somewhere between this ver 12 Android and the 4 GB (+3 vram), this phone seems to run a touch faster than my last phone, with a better camera (it seems great to me) which even takes better lowlight images. When recording videos, the image doesn't freeze up briefly like my last cam did if I panned too quickly. Obviously the speaker is awesome and battery life is great. I aim to use only from between 40% and 60% capacity, or the middle third (roughly high 30 something to about 72%) technically it would be between 33 and 66%. Not fully discharging or charging is great for battery life and with this gentle use they can last indefinitely. Many hours of intense usage including video/movie streaming is available on this phone using only 20% or 30% capacity. Without use, the % available stays the same. With light use (including less than an hour of video streaming), only a few % gets used in a day. Screen functionality seems fine to me, even with thin winter gloves on, though I need to tap the screen more so than lightly touch it. I saw a pic of very broken screen on this thread, I'm not sure how durable the screen is though I trust the waterproof capacity (from watching a video playing music under water with a bubbly jet shooting from the speaker). It seems it would be durable if landing on one of the thick, rubberized shock absorbing corners. Having seen that pic (of a broken screen, broken by a child), I'm very careful with handling the phone, though because it's somewhat oversized and heavy, it's actually hard to be clumsy with. So far, so awesome for a price more than economy phones, yet less than premium brand phones with more and perhaps unnecessary RAM, phones with less battery life and much less speaker capacity, water resistance and perhaps physical durability. I haven't gamed with this device (though it seems mid-range capable) and I bought it for the speaker and battery life and hopefully for durability! So far so awesome! I bought this phone specifically for trips in humid environments after killing yet another phone on vacation. I have not had a chance to test its durability but can comment on the rest. PROS No bloatware, At all. Update was pushed shortly after purchase Good volume on the speaker; can hear both voice and media loud and clear at a distance. Charge holds for a week. Phone will play media all night and still be good for the next day. Solid-feeling and heavy; fits well in cargo pants and jacket pockets; too heavy to be used with light clothes (e.g. don't put this in your trunks - its that heavy). Cheap Good GPS accuracy CONS Heavy; not every phone holder will hold it (especially magnetic ones). Although the view quality of the screen is good; its touch sensitivity is bad and inconsistent; especially at the corners/edges of the screen; expect to miss your target; and often. We bought this phone for our 9 yr old 2 weeks ago. He is clumsy so we put another case on top of the phone. We were expecting this phone to last for a while. He accidentally dropped the phone and the screen completely shattered. The phone comes with a screen protector, which is completely useless. For a rugged phone, it is beyond ridiculous that a small drop would damage the phone to this extent. ... show more

    • Great deal for "durable" phone...
Bought this phone to replace my Kyocera Duraforce phone (which I loved...), and so far, I am satisfied. *PROS: 1) Immense battery life...I can go several DAYS w/o charging 2) Great speaker on this phone...it can get LOUD 3) Latest Android operating system, so no issues downloading any apps so far (unlike my older Kyocera). 4) Built like a tank! 5) You can put 2 SIM cards in it...effectively combining two phones into one! 6) Great price on this model 7) It's different! Most likely, you'll be the only person who has one...or even seen one, so if you like to "march to the beat of a different drum," this is right up your alley! *CONS: 1) Built like a tank...really, more like a brick, but it's thick and heavy (I assume due to the massive battery and speaker). 2) For some reason, it's not that comfortable to talk on for long periods...physically starts to hurt my ear. OVERALL: Happy w/ my purchase...definitely get a lot of bang for your buck with this phone! One other thing...The marketing material said this phone works with all carriers, but my carrier (Patriot Mobile) said this wouldn't work with my ATT SIM card (from Kyocera) and that I'd have to switch to T-Mobile. I like the speaker. It works good ! Nice and loud.. good for watching movies.has a nice surround sound theater sound to it.... As for the phone it's self is really not so good.. I gotta pound on the screen when im typing... It doesnt have a very good touch response.. the camera just sucks.!! It doesn't wanna focus at all or it takes a really long time.and you have to b very still.. but over all, im not very happy with this phone at all for the price i paid...๐Ÿคจ ... show more

This phone is great for my son as he is rough on phones. But we have Straight Talk and have not been able to transfer his phone line. I think it's just Straight Talk problem so we are going to get new number and see if that works.

The processor is a little slow, though, and tapping on anything around the edges is not very accurate. I've never had that problem before.
