    • The Mature Technology I've Been Waiting For
I'm nobody's idea of an early adopter. I resisted getting a smartphone for several years, until my service provider basically said they couldn't support my dumbphone any longer. And though I did own an earlier version of the Kindle tablet, I didn't always describe it glowingly: it worked well, but had limited battery life, and certain apps were chronically untrustworthy. I tell you all that so you know exactly who's rendering the opinion you're about to read. I love this device. It has a large screen, high resolution, and clear sound. It's good for watching videos, with a large enough screen that I can see details with clarity, and can even have a few friends sitting around watching together. If I want to read off the screen, the image clarity is sufficient that the letters pop, and the type is arguably clearer than on paper. And, working in the construction industry, people can email me plans and blueprints, and they read as large and clear as I need them to be. It couples well with the most common online applications, including Netflix, Pandora, and Zoom. The speakers have a very low distortion quality, and the sound carries well, so you don't have to huddle around the tablet like a tiny campfire in order to get what's going on. It's possible to share content on this device, not just on the internet, but with the friends right in front of you, because the picture and sound are sufficient to do whatever you need them to do. This is a public, sharing computer. Don't mistake me: it still isn't perfect. The price of that great screen and good speakers, is that they drain power faster than you'd expect. The battery needs charged repeatedly, because without that, it'll die in your hands embarrassingly fast. And because the screen is so large, it's very difficult to type on the touch-screen. If you expect to do any word processing, invest in a Bluetooth keyboard; I've found it a lifesaver. This device will do a lot, but it has limits brought about by its size. Within those limits, thought, I've really enjoyed this device's capabilities. I've found it adaptable enough for both leisure and work, for both home and office use, and for private scrolling and public sharing. Even for a Luddite like me, who avoids new technology until it's proven itself worth the price, I've found this piece useful, entertaining, and fun. Plenty of space for apps and expansion. Nice screen and resolution. Bright colors. Responsiveness is great. Love it in the off-white. We have two of these and get a lot of use out of them.

Works great! Love the Alexa feature . I use it in the kitchen to play music and look up recipes. Great being hands free as a mom!! Also can’t wait to use kindle app on it.

My son liked the tablet, I wasn't aware that Google play store wasn't apart of the apps. Very disappointed about that.
