Doesn't bother my sensitive skin using it several nights a week. A little seems to be as effective as using more and stretches it's lifespan. Llevaba 3 años con melasma que me salió por un viaje y me extralimité con el sol por muchos días. Yo me he hecho IPL, peelings, Radiesse con mi doctora estética. Además de usar viniperfect de Caudalie, dark spot serum de glow recipe, faded de topicals, retinol 1% de Paula’s Choice y puedo decir que llevaba 4 meses con el retinol de Paula’s Choice pero mi melasma disminuyó muy poco, así que decidí buscar el retinAL de Avene porque vi muchas recomendaciones y efectivamente, lo llevo usando 3 semanas (3-4) veces a la semana porque ya venía adaptada con el retinol y me ha hecho lo que ningún tratamiento, doctor, ni producto me hicieron. Es ya casi invisible mi melasma y la fórmula no irrita tanto incluso que el retinol y me ha retirado las manchas que tenia desde hace 3 años. Si reseca un poco como toda la familia de la vitamina A pero uso una buena crema reparadora como la de skinfix y ahora agregué la de PURITO de ceramidas y el serum de PURITO de centella aciàtica, péptidos y niacinamida, para bajar los costos, porque gastaba en demasiados serums diferentes y para mí invertir en un buen retinaldehído es el centro de todo tratamiento y estoy absolutamente fascinada. ... show more

There is no doubt that this is a very good product, but it dries my skin after cleansing I hydrate my skin with a toner, followed by an essence I use this cream…. And it absorbs quickly on top of this I usually put another cream to moisturize and keep my skin hydrated still the next day my skin wakes up very dry have not seen any perks yet or changes in my skin but it’s too early to tell. ... show more

I wish I'd thought to take a 'before' photo - I have been using this product since Dec 14th and I really noticed changes today (Dec 31st) when at the bathroom mirror just after getting out of bed. I purchased it for forehead lines, 11s, and 'smoker's lines' -- all have decreased noticeably, especially the 11s. I am 53 & have gotten botox (forehead/11s) probably 12 times over seven or eight years -- I love it but because of cost, I have never been able to keep on the regular recommended schedule. This is really working well and after only three weeks. I have been using it morning AND night with no redness/sensitivity; if your skin tolerates it well, I think applying it twice a day is key. As just about every review has mentioned, I don't love the packaging. There's no way you're ever going to get all of it out of the container. At this price point, it should be in a jar so you don't waste any. I'll keep using it and plan to subscribe but if the manufacturer is checking this page, please LISTEN - put this in a jar or at the very least, a plastic tube that we can cut open as it runs low. Love this product, but I can’t used it every day because my skin start peeling. I normally get this reaction with all retinol products. I do mix it with the moisturizers and works better. But I see good with constant use.

I have dry skin that’s eczema prone. This burns my skin after several days of use in a row - yes, I am only putting a pea size amount on my entire face, I’m even applying lotion on before I put this on. What happens is I get no side effects for a string of days using this, then BOOM, I get inflammation all over my face and terrible burn…. This RetrinAL is aggressive, and will only be suitable for normal or oily skin. I now have bad retinol burn on my face, and under one of my eyes that’s been there for a week and will not go away despite the fact I’m treating it with hydrocortisone everyday like the literature on the internet says to do …. (I do not apply the retrinAl directly under my eyes since you’re not supposed to do that, but this retrinAl still managed to migrate to the skin under my eyes!) ... show more
