Bought first one in January. It has held up great to mild abrasion. It is unfazed by shoveling common everyday items across it. It laughs at dozens of glasses of water but has not encountered coffee. I bought the 35.4" x 17" mat in white, and it looks excellent on my white desk. It feels firm and durable, and it works fine as a mouse pad on its own. I wouldn't recommend resting your wrists on it for a long time, as it's not very cushy, but that's not the purpose of this item anyway. No complaints from me! ... show more

The size and feel of this desk pad is of wonderful quality. It came rolled in a tube, but it was easy to put down flat by rolling in the opposite direction. I didn't notice a smell at all. The color, however, was completely inaccurate. Instead of the subtle wine red that I was hoping would pair nicely with my desk, I got this annoyingly bright scarlet. I really wish the photos of the product were more accurate. EDIT: I ordered another desk pad in blue this time. The color matches with the photos and pairs well with my stuff. Final thoughts: don’t buy the red unless you want the color in my photo. Satisfied with the product. ... show more

There really should be half-stars because I don't think my one negative comment should knock the rating down a full star..that being said. I love the feel of the desk pad. It rolled out flat in no time so don't shy away from this one because it comes shipped in a tube. There was absolute no smell to this good or otherwise. Here's the one negative comment...it slides. There's a smooth flannel feeling material on the back and therefore if you slightly push on it, it moves. So I simply took some of rubber drawer liners and put that underneath it. I may have to glue the rubber pieces in place but so far it seems to have done the trick. ... show more

For the price I thought I got a really good product after first setting it up. I purchased this because I wanted a desk-size gaming mouse pad that was not thick and plush so I could actually write on paper on top of it. This worked well for that, just don't push down too hard with your pen or pencil. My gaming mouse also seemed to glide much better on this pads surface! One minor problem that I just thought I could deal with is the lack of a smooth edge. The pad is literally two layers of rough-cut leather put together, with a very visible gap at the edges. My forearm became itchy after a few hours of use from rubbing against the edge of the pad. I ended up hanging part of the pad off the edge of my desk to solve this. Though it was still annoying standing up and it rubbing on my legs. Over the course of a month though things took a turn for the worst. First, I noticed that the pad was staining from my palms! I'm not even a sweaty guy and it is winter. Second, my mouse smoothness became far worse. Even though my mouse is brand new with perfectly smooth pads, the surface of the desk pad was wearing down! The surface I've been using my mouse on is now noticeably rougher than the surrounding area. This roughness made it very hard to make minute movements - very important for games! I replaced this mouse pad with the "MONYES Desk Pad Protector" size 34" x 17" and it seems to be a higher quality pad. The edges are melted/smoothed down so it does not uncomfortably rub against my forearm, and my mouse is even smoother compared to a non-worn down section of this BUBM pad! Update: I have had these mats on our desks for a while now and we both love them, they are comfortable and easy to keep clean and protect a large surface. Great desk pad, I have used the pink side and am now using the silver side. I have been using this desk pad since January and it has held up nicely, very durable and hasn't faded or anything. It is a good size and the perfect thing to add some color to a drab work surface.
