I've been wanting to have some fun with our hair, so I decided to order this tinsel kit. Tinsel is something new for us to work with. There are 14 different blends of colors, and they all glisten. The kit also includes several accessories such as ponytail tools, rubber bands, pliers, comb, hair clips, face gems, ring beads, and a hook. There are 2800 strands of tinsel that is approx. 46" which can be cut down to your preferred length. The tools can also be used for other projects once you run out of tinsel, but the tinsel should last quite a while depending on how many strands you choose to wear at one time. The face gems come in multiple colors and sizes. I'd recommend having some sort of skin glue since some of them don't stick as well as I had hoped. Plus, the skin glue can allow them to be reused a couple times before disposal. The tinsel is long, you may have to cut the tinsel. You might be able to cut each strand in half. The tinsel itself is soft and flexible. This tinsel is a little more tedious than using clip-in tinsel. It might be easier for someone else to put the tinsel in your hair. It is taking me some time to get used to applying tinsel, but the tools are very helpful. ... show more

So this is better then the other one i have as it is 46 inches and i have long hair. I also like that they give you 2 color choices for micro beads instead of just black ones. It also comes with 2 of those pony tail loop tools which i find fun to use. My issue was looking at the directions in the pictures on the webpage you see to pull your hair through the loop and leave the loop somewhat sticking out the top and then crimp. THis will be a disaster if i had done it that way and then tried to brush my hair. You can also tie a slip knot and just pull a few strands of your hair liek they do at that fair if you don't wan to use the beads. ... show more

This set includes a beautiful variety of hair tinsel and a lot of extras to help you put them in with a variety of different methods. It really has everything you need to get started with hair tinsel. The rhinestones and rubber bands make for nice extras to complete your look. The one downside is the instructions. They do come with instructions, but they are tiny. The instructions have pictures, but it really wasn’t clear to me what I should do. This might be because I am not a professional hairstylist. I did turn to a couple of YouTube videos for how to install (specifically using the included beads since this would allow for a thicker chunk of tinsel and this is the look my daughter wanted) and then I was easily able to get started. I really appreciated that the set came with a loop tool, a hook tool, the comb, beads with pliers, etc. so that you can apply them in the way that makes the most sense to you. I was easily able to tinsel my daughter’s hair. It would be super simple to put them throughout her hair. I was also able to put a few in my own hair. Putting them on your own head does take a bit more practice, but it is doable. Since putting them in we have washed and blow dried our hair and the tinsel help up well. We regularly use tinsel for our daughters and have many sets, I wish I had snapped a pic on grinch day at school, we put the green in the girls hair with the circle connectors (the color variety made it easy to locate blend able colors, the clear for the light haired daughter, the dark for the dark haired daughter) the tools worked as the should and to be fully accurate it was our first time using any tools! I was capable within a few minutes as the directions were easy to understand. Usually I just braid tinsel into the girls hair and double ponytail it but we wanted to learn the easy way to add it with the hair rings. Removal was super easy as I didn’t overfill the rings, I pre-tied the tinsel to the rings, I did half way full with hair and then tightened, removal was just unflatten the ring and slowly pull off. This set was way better than anticipated and the tools are the best I’ve received. With other places I’ve had tools missing so i couldn’t fully use them but everything in this set was fully accounted for and worked very well. ... show more

At first I was worried about the application on my thick/wavy hair, but this kit includes everything, the clips to section your hair makes the application a breeze! I have struggled in the past with other kits because they didn’t not have some of the tools to make application easy, but this one has everything you need. My teen love colorful funky hair. What better than to add a little shimmer. I got this so I can give her holiday hair a little more color and fun but I’m an easy removable way.’this kit comes with plenty of color options. I honestly like these colors better than the plain ones…. They are ombré like. It also has all the tools plus some extras. I tried a couple in my own hair to make sure it all works before I wrap them as a stocking stuffer. It’s very easy to do even on yourself. I was also able to easily remove them. These hair tinsels add colors to my daughter's hair without actually having to color her hair for a different look. We like to switch out colors as one starts to get boring.
