I didn’t realize this was the final missing piece to my snowboarding kit. This pack is just the right size to hold your boots, helmet, gloves, goggles and plenty of other equipment. One recommendation is that I find it more comfortable with the helmet turned 90 degrees from the way shown in the pictures. You don’t know it’s there that way. We used to have all our equipment rolling around the back of the vehicle but now everyone has their gear in one place and makes home storage easier. I haven’t taken it through an airport yet and some carriers might make you check it in as it is fairly large when full. This is also really good value and very well constructed. I would've given it 5 stars if it had enough room to fit all my ski gear. After putting my boots in, the top compartment didn't have quite enough room to fit my helmet in and it was a very tight squeeze. That was a big no from me! Otherwise, it was perfect, and I enjoyed using it to carry my gear. The straps are very comfy and don't dig into you. The strap around the waist was great! Very comfortable. The bag is very well made and fits everything I need...although it is a bit snug. The boot compartment is large enough for my size 9.5 boots and a pair of insulated snow bibs. I put the bibs in a separate bag to protect them and put this between the boots. This has the added benefit of adding some padding to keep the boots from rubbing together. The helmet compartment fits my helmet (large) with my goggles, scull cap/hat and whatever else I can fit inside the helmet. The helmet goes into the compartment upside down. The fit is snug, but not too tight. The front pocket fits my gloves, mittens, balaclava, and miscellaneous other items. I could probably also fit a light sweater or down vest. The bag has 2 grab handles and 2 padded shoulder straps, with an adjustable cross chest strap, permanently mounted on the back, making it easy to wear as a back-pack or by slinging one strap over your shoulder. The bag is shaped more like a backpack than other boot bags and therefore feels more comfortable when wearing on the shoulders. The 2 biggest disappointments are: (1) they didn't add any additional zipper pockets to handle small items like keys, a cell phone, etc. (I partially solved this problem by using a couple of zippered pouches to keep things organized), and (2) the bottom of bag doesn't have feet or a rubberized finish that would help when sitting it on the ground in the snow/slush/mud parking lots or drop-off areas. Fixing these two deficiencies would make this a 5-star bag. There are bigger bags out there for about the same price (or even a bit cheaper) with more pockets and features but I found these to be too large and a bit sloppy to carry or wear on my back. The jury is still out on whether I am keeping this bag or continuing my search. Dakine makes great stuff and backs it up with a lifetime warranty. I only wish they would have added the additional pockets and a rubberized bottom on this bag. ... show more

Bought this bag to carry my snow gear after getting stranded on a mountain and having to lug everything home. I needed a bag for at least my helmet,goggles,gloves, and snowboard boots. The bag fits all of these things comfortably with a little room to spare for some stuffed in snow pants. The only negative side is that there really isn’t any wiggle room for the bag size to fit anything more than the mentioned. Would have loved to see a zip out extension or possibly even board straps.     • Sent right back and opted for the 75L. Don’t regret it one bit.

Not quite big enough. It has room inside it, but it’s all in the boot compartment. It could hold a helmet or something, just not in a dedicated pocket unless you use the small pocket up top. If you do wind up getting that in there, it’ll all flop down because nothing is holding it up on the outer (away from your back) side. You could put your jacket in with your boots or something, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. I got the 75L and it has the little pocket up top I put my gloves and ski socks in. It has another pocket deep to that one that hosts the helmet and goggles beautifully (supporting the bag). I even get my ski jacket and pants into that compartment. It has two side pockets where I’ll put a water bottle for the drive and snacks for my pockets when I’m skiing. It truly holds it all. The material also seems to be a lot more durable than the 50L. Even the zippers seem more sturdy. (It sounds like it’s a huge step up in size, but remember Liters are 1000cm^3, so it gets a tiny bit bigger in each direction to get a good amount more volume.) Just go with the 75 unless you’re a small child. You’ll be glad you did! ... show more

Size is not overwhelming , carries nicely on your back. Would of liked the top helmet compartment slightly deeper.. DaKine may consider when re- designing to add an outside pocket for a water bottle or extra miscellaneous small items. Material seems durable and resists water.
