Right out of the box I am missing parts. The router shipped wit 8 of the 12 screws to attach the plexiglass guards. I contacted Comgrow support via Amazon and received a quick reply with a promise to ship the missing parts. There was work to do on the machine. The bed was not aligned with the rear leg assembly which caused the plexi shield to not fit flush and the two bed halves were not aligned with each other. I had to re-align the beds with the rear leg assemble by loosening the bed bolts and attaching the rear plexi guard to align the bed halves with each other then tightening the bed bolts. Not a complicated process but it did reveal that 6 of the 8 T nuts were not seated in the slots. The parts themselves were fine but the build quality was poor. ... show more

Having been in the machine tool industry for over 30 years I can say this small machine is a great tool for the model railroad hobbyist. This machine is a bit overrated for what it is supposed to do. Milling aluminum 1/8" thick is pushing this machine. It is a router type machine not a several ton metal working machines made from cast iron. It is great for small hobby type work. the person buying this to do large work is going to be very frustrated. The machine does vibrate a bit but that's because it is totally made from aluminum. Not a metal that absorbs vibration like a cast iron machine would. I also own a Sherline CNC mill. The ROBO has a much larger cutting area and will be able to do the jobs I have planned for it. The price is low enough. The build quality is pretty good. The accuracy of the factory's machining isn't great and once you get it together, you're CNC isn't truly square, and there's no way to make it square because you can't adjust the skewing of the y axis. Unfortunate.

after 25 emails and 15 days they cannot solve my problem of this printing at 25% my original image. my file in candle says 148mm but it always comes out way too small when engraving like 20mm Edit: it is actually a pretty good machine. it was my fault actually I forgot to set the X back after roller. ... show more

I have had Vevor, Sainsmart, Fox Alien, others, and this machine is so well made. It blows away the competition. Had a little bit of an issue where all my designs we're X being the long side, but I just redesigned and all is well. Strongly recommend, this machine is so sturdy and well made.

The assembly of this Comgrow 3018 was very fast. Put in 6 bolts, add the 4 rubber feet,6 bolts for Acrylic sides, a few plugs and your done. It comes with a separate controller to run jobs when not tethered to a pc. There is an extra plug so you can add a diode laser to make this a 2 in 1 unit. It has a nice sensor for leveling the bed. It comes with laser grbl software for doing laser jobs and a program called candle to load jobs to the CNC from your pc. I used a program called Easel to design files on pc and load with candle to engrave. I had to replace the supplied usb cable because when I ran a job in candle the spindle would stop. No biggy, easy fix. There are tons on info online for the 3018 CNC from many companies. They also include some bits to get you started. I recommended wearing eye and ear protection. Its built like a tank and I would recommend. It seems to be priced right. I seen 1 test file for the Cnc on sd card, but with Fusion, Easel or other programs it very easy to design and Import projects. I also own the Comgro Comgo Z1 Laser and they are making some Great Products. They are tied to Creality in some way.I hope this might help some of you. ... show more

machine looks great, assembly very good, directions for software download was not good for me, i am not that familiar with today's computers. i programmed gcodes on cnc mills on the job but the software was already installed, besides my other computer is junk.

This was not clear or easy set up. I expected more and maybe that was my bad. I wanted to use v carve pro or adapt things easily. The starting point isn’t easily set. The instructions are not clear.
