The media could not be loaded. My overall impression of this smoke purifier is that is does exactly what I need for a laser cutter enclosure. Let me setup my scenario so you can better understand my needs and what this device does for me. I have a windowless garage and the only way for anything to vent is if I open the garage doors. But I do NOT want to do that because of bugs and heat from the outside. But with this device I can extract the smoke from the enclosure and have NO visible smoke at all. As I expected I can still smell some smoke, but it is not bad. I am only a hobbyist, so this is perfect for my needs, and I am not cutting for 8 straight hours either. I did not plan to use this as a soldering fume extractor but after seeing it in person, it has lots of potential with the adjustable flexible head. I can get very close to my work area, whereas the stationary fan I was using was very limiting and would miss most of the fumes. I do a lot of soldering and I might have to buy another one of these for my soldering workstation. Accessories I like how it came with 2 different size hoses and stainless-steel clamps, but I am not too sure that the tiny screwdriver is for. I assume it is for the hose clamp, but a slightly bigger one would have been nice. But to be honest, I never use the tools that are included with kits. Functionality The overall suction is good but that is if you have a focused tip. That is why it was a perfect setup for a soldering station. But with something like a laser cutter with a moving head, a stationary device will not work. That is why I choose to use an enclosure to help contain the smoke and let the smoke absorber filter it out. I typically have it running at 100% speed so it can get kind of loud (~61db at 3 feet). Problems All the accessories that came with this kit fit nice and snug, but none of the hoses fit my enclosure. It was either too small or too big, so I added some foam tape around the exiting fitting on the enclosure and now it has a nice tight fit.

Review of the Comgrow Smoke Absorber The Comgrow Smoke Absorber arrived well-packed and securely protected within foam cutouts, ensuring all parts were safe during shipping. The minimal assembly required was straightforward, involving the correct adapters and vent pipe for your specific application. The package a 3 inch vent tube, 4 inch vent tube, and a 4 inch to 3 inch reducer. Also included is a universal telescopic tube. I have not used it yet, but it seems like it would be effective and useful, particularly for soldering applications. When used with my laser engraver to work on wood, the Comgrow Smoke Absorber proved highly effective in containing smoke. Without this device, the room would fill with smoke unless vented out a window. The unit includes a motor governor to adjust the motor speed, allowing for increased or decreased power based on need. The sound level is as expected for such a device. In terms of performance, the fumes from wood engraving were significantly reduced. Without the Comgrow, the smell of smoke would permeate my entire work area. Using it, the fumes were confined to the room where the engraving took place, and reduced to a very low level. Overall, the Comgrow Smoke Absorber is a highly useful device and well worth the investment.

I was hoping that this would be an inexpensive solution for the smoke from my laser engraver. Unfortunately, it failed miserably. My garage workshop filled with laser cutter smoke. I could see the tons of smoke it was missing. Extremely low suction... it could barely hold a credit card to the intake. I placed the intake as close as I could without interfering with the laser head, but it failed miserably. I bought a tent for my laser engraver with it's own fan and hooked it up to this Comgrow so-called fume extractor. It helped with the additional exhaust fan. But the bottom line for me is Comgrow is falsely advertising that it's product is effective for laser cutters. Not the case for me.

Takes care of the smoke but not the smell, from my Xtool D1 Pro Laser Engraver. I also have a small exhaust fan on the enclosure so these work together. I’ve had it for about 3 weeks. Haven’t looked at the filter yet, but I only run this a few hours per week. I am new to all this stuff so mainly testing a lot of different settings and materials. I will update my review In a few months regarding the filter life. I have to say it is better than not having a filter. I don’t have an exterior window in my garage so this is my best option…. without spending several hundred bucks. Previously, I used a fan and opened the garage door partially. Once I purchased the enclosure, I felt I needed something to help take care of the smoke.

I bought this bundled with the enclosure, to use with a laser engraver. The general concept seems good, and at first, it seemed to be working well, but the smoke absorber is too small and woefully under-powered for the job. The suction was considerably less than I had expected, and the filter became completely clogged and caked with smoky sawdust-like material by the time I finished the very first project where I tried to use it (a 300x300 mm piece of plywood, nothing unusual for working on a diode laser). I could keeo using this machine, but if I did, I'd need to replace filters after pretty much every project. I'll be looking for something significantly larger and more powerful.
