Too Awkward to use, need plug to be close by, not good for me

It just stop working.

  • Helped a bit.
My Dr recommended targeted RLT (Red Light Therapy) for my TMJ. Why not try it for my neck and shoulder pain too? At first glance, the belt's construction is impressive, with 40 high-quality lamp beads. In theory the 630nm and 660nm red light work brilliantly in stimulating collagen and rejuvenating the skin, while the deep penetration of the 850nm infrared light should reduces inflammation and boosts blood circulation. In reality I noticed I was popping less Advil - key word being less. In terms of convenience, the USB-controlled interface is a remarkable addition (although I did have to use an extension adapter).. Whether I'm working from home, traveling, or in the office, the ability to connect the device to a computer, car charger, or even a regular plug ensures that relief is always within arm's reach. Its dimensions (22.4x7 inches) make it suitable for use by not only myself but my husband as well and the neoprene composite fabric feels gentle on the skin. The waterproof PVC interior is a thoughtful touch, making sweat cleaning hassle-free. Unfortunately, pvc on skin will create sweat and some of us are sweatier than others. Time and diligence will tell how effective RLT really is. ... show more

  • This helps me.
We got the COMFYTEMP PORTABLE INFRARED RED LIGHT THERAPY BELT FOR NECK for my husband, who used to hang drywall, which can be very debilitating for your neck. He uses it, but I use it more. I have a fairly recent issue with my hip, which began after I broke my ankle a couple years ago. I am finding that this helps it to feel better. What I've noticed about this, is it feels like a heating pad, which helps with the pain I have when I'm laying down. That relief is immediate. It also feels better when I walk around, or go up and down stairs, the day after using this devise. I take a lot of OTC anti-inflammatories, which work well, but aren't good for my overall health. I'm hoping that this might eventually alleviate the need for anti-inflammatories completely. That might be optimistic, but short term results are good, and I've noticed no negative effects from using this. If you have issues with pain, I think it's worth giving a try. The only complaint I have is that the power cord is relatively short; you're forced to stay very stationary when using it, and not far from an electrical outlet. I don't know if it's possible to make something like this rechargeable. That, of course, would be ideal. Barring that, this could benefit from a much longer power cord. Not everybody has a convenient place to sit or lay down, near a power outlet. Since you use this for 20 minutes at a time, it's important to be comfortable while using it. The short power cord can limit your choices. ... show more

  • Snake oil or magic...
As to the Comfytemp Red Light Therapy Belt....I have no complaints. I actually appreciate that it uses USB for power source as I often have a USB port closer than a free and accessible outlet. The belt it light in weight, so getting to stay on your neck or waist is quite easy. And I appreciate the larger coverage area. So, the device itself is perfectly good at what it sets out to do. Now as for Red Light Therapy... I am new to Red Light Therapy (RLT) and on the surface it appears to be snake oil. But, that is mainly due to the lack of credible medical studies. If you are new to RLT like me, here is an excerpt from the website Healthline that gives the gist of how it works: "This red light exposure may produce a positive biochemical effect in your cells that strengthens the mitochondria, which is where the cell’s energy is created. RLT may do this by increasing the transportation of electrons, oxygen consumption, and your levels of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). By increasing the energy of the mitochondria, cells may function more efficiently, as well as rejuvenate and repair themselves." There's a lot of the word 'may' in that short statement. Basically, there is a lot of medically unproven benefits that are touted. But, from what I've read, the downsides or side effects seem no different than if one were to use a heating pad improperly. Additionally, this is a therapy. Meaning you likely won't see a noticeable benefit with just one use. Just like PT or OT, it needs to be a regular regimen. Only time will tell. ... show more

  • Cord Is Way To Short. Makes Me Feel Like I'm On A Leash
The neck belt works well. I have used red light therapy before. I do feel like it helps. This one warms but doesn't heat. It is comfortable to wear but you have to be so close to the plug it almost feels like a leash and collar. For that reason I don't think I would recommend it.

  • Well built, no power supply included
This red light neck belt is made well and the material is soft, it fit comfortably around my neck. I'm not sure how much the red ight affects my pain, but the heat from it and the pulse felt nice on my neck. I don't like that it comes with a USB cable but no power adapter to plug it in with. It would be more convenient though if it was rechargeable so it would be easy to move around the house and keep it on. ... show more
