I needed a shirt exactly like this. I thought about what would be the perfect shirt to protect me from the sun and mosquitoes. It would have to be super light weight because I get hot easily. It would have to be super comfortable because I get uncomfortable easily. I searched Amazon and found this shirt, ordered it and am now absolutely loving it. Because of other review recommendations and because this shirt is fitted, and because I have long arms and large hips, and because my intention is to wear this shirt over tank tops and such, I sized up to Large although Medium would be my normal size in tops. The Large is perfect (I am about a size 10 on top and a size 14-16 on bottom.) This Columbia Tamiami II shirt is even better than what I thought up in my head as the perfect shirt. It is vented in the upper back. The snaps down the front and on the sleeve cuffs are so much better than buttons because it is so easy and quick to open and close. There are 2 zippered pockets on the left and right bottom - Wow! It is fitted so gives a woman a fashionable look. It even has a bit of a stretch to it. It is so light and comfortable, you barely even feel it against your skin. The shirt is a bit see-through (at least, the white one is) so I don't think it is best for wearing without anything underneath. You might even get away with wearing this to the office with a camisole or tank top underneath, either buttoned up, or with some buttons (actually, snaps) on top unbuttoned for a layered look. I would say, because of the pockets, this shirt is better suited for not being tucked in. If you like this shirt but are looking for something that has a relaxed fit instead, or if you are on the XL size, consider the Columbia Sportswear Women's Bahama Long Sleeve Top instead. I love the Bahama top as well and wear that one in my normal size of Medium. ... show more

    • Exceptional summer sun protection shirt! Fabric is SO soft!!

Columbia Women's Tamiami is my very favorite shirt for summer sun protection, and I have many shirts to compare it against. I'm in the California sun a lot and prefer long sleeves to protect my skin. I bought this shirt in 4 colors as it is the most comfortable, coolest, softest, most flattering of all my sun shirts. The fabric and fit are exceptional!! CAUTION: the fit of the 2017 Tamiami II is what I'd call "athletic" - so it's a slim fit. I usually wear a Medium, unless the top is labeled "Athletic Fit", which is code for "tight". I bought one Tamiami II in Medium, and it is very flattering, but a little tighter than I normally would wear. However, the fabric is soft a little stretchy, so I actually really like this fit. I bought 3 in Large, and the 2017 version Large is a generous-but-not-overly-loose fit. I also bought one in Dark Lime, which is not a color that Columbia shows on their website right now - I think it may be a previous year's color? That shirt in Large is much bigger. So I wish I would have ordered the Medium in Dark Lime. Also, the White is VERY transparent - I don't mind as I usually wear a tank top under it, but I wouldn't wear it over just a bra. ... show more

I got this for Florida to prevent sun burn. It is such a beautiful color and such a well-made shirt and it’s really comfortable and lightweight. I love it it’s very flattering and I love the option of the rollup sleeve that buttons. It comes in many colors I will be buying more. You won’t be sorry.

    • Great shirt for hot climates

I have a lot of these SPF shirts and wear them constantly in hot humid, or hot dry climates. I gave this a 4 star instead of 5 because of the color. From the name, Tiki Pink, I did not expect it to be a light coral color. The picture is acually pretty accurate but I was hoping for a more pink shade. That being said, I'm happy with the shirt quality and I know its a functional design. It is not sheer at all. I'm 5'3' and 115 lbs. and the medium is a good fit. You can't beat Columbia for quality, innovation and wearability. These shirts have venting to let the heat out, SPF 50 to keep you from sunburn, and an uncanny ability to dry almost instantly. Lots of pockets, some with velcro closures. The pockets have drain holes! You can actually feel cooler wearing a light colored one with the sleeves down than being bare. Amazing utility shirt for fishing, boating, kayaking or the beach, yet you can button them up, tuck them in and go to a nice place for dinner and it'll pass for a dress shirt. They wear like iron. They also make pants, some that convert into shorts, out of the same type of material. Some even have swim trunk like "undies" in them. I'm very prone to sunburn and take medication that makes it worse. On top of that, I've had some precancerous spots on my skin that had to be removed. So, I have to be completely covered when I'm outside for any length of time. I also like to sail/kayak. BAAAD combo... However, with one of these shirts and a pair of the pants, I'm perfectly safe. Moreover, I can be soaked to the skin and by the time I've got the yak and equipment packed up, I'm dry and ready to drive home. :-) I should explain that I'm reviewing the Columbia line of clothing, both men's and women's. This particular shirt is my wife's. ;-) Only thing is that they're wicked expensive. Watch for closeouts and sales. My wife said to mention that the sizes by style differ WILDLY. It’s the perfect shirt for being in the sun all day. It’s cool, lightweight, airy, comfortable and looks nice. It dries very quickly too. I tied the bottom and paired it with a cute floral skort and wore my bathing suit underneath.
