Bought for my Hammerhead 150 Gy6 Upon recieving the package, I had to stretch the clutch springs out to break the paint apart. They seem to work fine, though. The yellow spring wasn't a 1:1 fit. It's slightly off width wise, so it doesn't fit perfectly. Upon compression, it would stick to the sleeve. Though, it sits in the clutch far more compressed than this would be of a concern. Didn't have any issues. Does this work better than the stock set up? Not sure, as I didn't get a chance to compare with the old offroad-wise. It did take away from top end speed, but that's okay because it gave it some girth in the front end like i was expecting. I'm satisfied. ... show more

I'm running a red spring on a lightly modified 150cc GY6 scooter. I had initially replaced the stock spring with the yellow spring. I only replaced the large Contra spring and not the small clutch springs as I like when the clutch engages, but the larger contra spring is what helps to tune the shift timing in a gy6 transmission. The yellow spring was stiffer than stock, and the red was stiffer than the yellow. A stiffer Contra spring reduces the rate at which the transmission upshifts, and allows for a bit more downshift under load. Regardless to what spring you have you must tune the CVT with your variator roller weights for the shift running you want. Running a stiffer red spring allowed me to not only delay when the shift occurs, but the higher spring rate slowed how fast is would shift from lowe to high. It also stays in a lower gear ratio better up hills. Most of those saying this did nothing or it was actually slower did not spend the time to tune the CVT, they just threw it in and hoped for the best. TLDR: this does what it is supposed to do. It is a stiffer spring that works with your roller weights to adjust shifting. Id recommend getting some roller weights as well to fine tune your set up for your needs. ... show more

Just recieved my package and opened it. The big spring looks like a mouse torn into it first. These 4 springs (1 large 3 small) have clearly been used by the paint worn off, and they small of grease/oil/fluid to verify they have been installed, if the missing/worn paint wasn't enough of a detail. Not pleased at all, i understood these things are cheap. But I was under the impression of what I purchased was going to be new and unused. Now even to make this right, I would have to pay for shipping which is the cost of the product itself, so not even worth it. I'll never buy from this source again ... show more
