We like the grill and it wasn't too difficult to assemble. However we were expecting a true infrared burner in the separate grill area to the left of and outside of the enclosed main burner area. It appears to be nothing more than a standard gas burner which does not sear steaks nearly as well as a true infrared burner does. It said it included an infrared burner, ours did not come with one as I expected. I had a true infrared burner in my last BBQ and this one is nowhere near like it nor is it nearly as effective. Love the infrared concept for evenness of cooking. Cleaning the infrared diffuser is another matter, but I'll figure it out. Disappointed that the bottom pan is not stainless; hopefully it will last. If you want juicy, evenly cooked steaks, chicken & burgers, Char-Broil Infrared is the best grille I have ever used. This is the second Char-Broil I have owned, can’t imagine using any other grille. It really is all about the Infrared design.

The build quality of the grill is good, however the tru-infrared grates are a bit tricky to work with. It can easily burn the meat. But overall I’m happy with my purchase at this price.
