I've had my first Echo Studio for several months now and I love it. It's set up in my basement bar. I had it paired with a 5th Generation Echo Dot. The Echo Dot was playing through an older small shelf stereo with a subwoofer that was across the room from the Studio. It sounded ok. The Echo Studio sounds great but the Echo Dot/old stereo was the weak spot in the system. After seeing so many people comment about the amazing sound when pairing two Studios together I decided to try it. I was waiting for them to go on sale again, (I bought the first one on sale) but then a refurbished one became available. I was a little reluctant to try a refurbished product, but by buying a refurbished one and also using my available card points I was able to pick up the speaker for $80. That's a substantial difference from the full $199 price so I ordered it. It arrived promptly and today I finally had some time to set it up. The setup process was frustrating, and basically, the reason that I didn't give it 5 stars. The speaker comes packed just like the new one did and actually looks brand new. I plugged it in and it woke up and did its setup thing. It hooked up to my wifi with no issues and then Alexa proclaimed it to be ready. So, then all I had to do was pair it with the other speaker. That's when the frustration started. It just wouldn't pair. I followed the steps. I made sure I was trying to pair it with the right group. I tried again. And again. The original speaker was playing just fine. The new speaker would talk to me but wouldn't play any music and would not pair up with the original speaker. I tried different steps. I paced. I called Alexa nasty names. After about a half-hour of this, without really knowing what I did differently (nothing) and almost at the point of packing it up and sending it back, by some miracle it started working. Suddenly my humble little bar was filled with jaw-dropping music. And at that point, all of my frustration with the setup was forgotten. The two Echo Studios paired together produce some impressive sound. The two speakers are mounted across the room from each other, one on a plant stand and one on a shelf, about 30 feet apart, and the sound that they create is immersive. Turned up a bit the base rattles the knickknacks on the walls. The highs are crisp and the midrange crystal clear. I was considering adding an Echo Sub to the system but the way these speakers sound now I'm not sure it's necessary. If you have any doubts, give it a try. The frustration of the pairing process was a small price to pay for the end result. I love these speakers. ... show more

I purchased the Certified Refurbished Echo Studio when it was on a Prime Deal, and for the most part I'm very happy with it. The device looks and performs like new. It sounds much better than the Echo Dot. It's easy to setup. In fact, all I had to do was plug it in and automatically recognized my network. A couple of clicks in the Alexa Application and it was setup in under a minute. I'd probably rate this 4.5 Stars based on what I paid. The only cons are that this device doesn't always hear commands when it's playing, and the sound is very good, not great. I do not think it would have been worth it buying a new one at the retail price, but this refurbished one on sale was worth it. ... show more

I listen to all sorts of music, so I have tried these with everything from Beethoven to Bust the Window...and it all sounds good. I have purchased a second one and have the sub-woofer in my wish list for purchase soon. I The second speaker arrives today, and I can't wait to hear two of them. The sound is kind of crazy. I was sitting at my computer and the spatial sound made it seem as of the sound was coming from in front of me even though the speaker is to my left. Because I have this in the room with a Show 15 they kept fighting each other for who would listen when I said the wake word. That was annoying. To fix this I changed the wake word on the speaker to something else so it isn't listening. Because I have it hooked up to the show the return sound comes through it anyway. All in all these are well worth the money. Let me say though, when I say worth the money, both of the ones I purchased are refurbished and not new. I think the new price is too high but the refurbished price is just right. ... show more
