This uke is a great deal. Beautiful solid wood with a nice finish, built in electronics powered by a small CR2032 type battery, with a case, and strap. It sounds really nice. Plays like the 4 top strings on a guitar. I am very pleased with this, especially for the meager price

    • Extreme value for money
This is a very solidly constructed baritone ukulele that plays well in the DBGE tuning (I have quite a few different ukuleles - resonator, 8-string, banjolele, even a charango GCEAE tuning). Have been playing for over 60 years so appreciate this instrument. The outstanding features of the package are the inclusion of a gig bag, a nice strap, truss rod wrench, cable for pickup connection, extra strings, extra batteries, and even a wall hanger.     • Nice Sound, Low Action, Easy to Play
A good buy considering the price, and what's included in the package. Besides the baritone ukulele, it comes with an ukulele wall hanger, ukulele strap, pick up cable, picks, 2 extra bridge pins, a cloth, a soft bag to carry/store the ukulele, an extra set of strings, although the extra strings are for the tenor or smaller ukuleles :(, a tool to help change out the bridge pins, and truss rod tool. The baritone ukulele is not solid acacia. It's thin wood(?). The reason for the question mark is because when the ukulele was unpacked, there was a very strong chemical odor coming from it. Why the chemical smell from something that is supposed to be wood is beyond me, but I'm not going to be negative about it. The smell went away after airing out, and the instrument looks ok. Sounds okay too, not "plastiky" like some sopranos, and even better when fingerpicking. So far, the tuner and pick up work. If you plug in, remember to turn off the tuner if you don't hear sound coming from your amp. The tuner has a tiny little button on it for turning off and on. 18 frets on the board, which works fine for me. No sharp edges on the fretboard. I like the carved-in "Caramel" logo, very nice look. The ukulele also has mounted strap holders on it, one on the bottom of the ukulele, and one located on back bottom of the neck. The saddle can be easily removed since it's not mounted in. Tuners are okay, and the ukulele holds its tune. The batteries (2 - CR2032), are already installed, and go in the pickup end, but the battery case cover is extremely difficult to open. I also bought a tenor ukulele at the same time from this company and encountered the exact same problem with the battery cover. The D string already came unwound at the end, but I intend to change out the strings anyway. I can live with the minor flaws, and although I wouldn't buy this for any professional player, this baritone has some nice features, and the best being the low action. It is very easy to play, and would make a nice gift for someone if you change out the pickup with battery case. ... show more

    • I accidentally bought a ukelele
I bought a Hilo as I was told it was. Bass. I'm sorry but it sounds great! These Caramels are cookie cutters from China. That's okay! It sounds beautiful so I purchased 3 . 2 on the way. I have very bad hand issues and I am IN LOVE with this instrument. Between the Hilo and Caramel ? The Hiko sounds more like a ukelele (may be the nygaut strings that are illegal in the US he liked. I like the Caramel as it gives me the guitar sound that I crave. It is learning 2 instruments at once. D-G-B-E are my favorite keys to sing in and the only strings I can play on the guitar. I will have one of each Caramel that is currently sold . That in Love. If you prefer the guitar sound? Def Caramel is it! However expect the strings to stretch for weeks. If you live in extreme weather's? You will want an A/E for the tuner, if you can't tune by ear. Pinky ... show more
