I read a lot of great reviews about the By Terry skincare and makeup products so I had to try them out for myself. I got the My Best Of Set. Everything came in a beautiful rose gold color makeup bag. Included: MASCARA TERRYBLY in black - Beautiful gold packaging. It made my eyelashes super long! Did not clump or smudge. Still applies effortlessly after over a month of use. HYALURONIC HYDRA-PRIMER - Texture soft and smooth, but I didn't see a difference In the way my skin looked. It did dry matte like it says on the tube. TEA to TAN FACE & BODY - It says hydra-bronze all over water-mist, so Iassumed it was a spray. It wasn't. It was a pump out bottle. To use, shake well so the shimmery particles mix well with the bronze liquid. Then use your hands to spread it evenly wherever you want a glow. I put some on my legs. My legs got a little red. Washed off with plain water. Aside from the redness, it was beautifully shimmery!! Little bit stain on my fingers after washing with soap and water. BAUME DE ROSE LA CREME MAINS - love love this hand cream. If you love the scent of roses, you will definitely love this hand cream too! Pretty pink hand cream that makes your hands feel so soft and hydrated. BAUME DE ROSE LE SOIN LEVRES - pretty sheer gloss, not sticky, with a subtle scent of roses. OMBRE BLACKSTAR 4 - Bronze Moon oh, this creme eyeshadow stick stays on forever! I use it as eyeliner too. Pretty and shimmery. HYALURONIC HYDRA-POWDER 0. Colorless Used this over the HYALURONIC Hydra-Foundation and the HYALURONIC Hydra-concealer using the TOOL-EXPERT- Princeau kabuki. Although the powder made my makeup stay on perfectly all day, my skin looked and felt dry. I also mixed the BRIGHTENING CC SERUM in with the HYALURONIC Hydra-Foundation. Still looked and felt dry.     • Nice set of items
Overall this was a nice set of items that I was able to use the majority of. My favorite thing was how big the makeup bag was. I am able to hold a lot of makeup, and it stays clean for the most part. I wasn't a fan of the smell of the lotion. I feel like for the price you should be getting more, I would not have bought it for the price. ... show more

    • Bag feels cheap, a couple items unusable for many skin tones
The giant bag this comes in feels very thin and cheap, so for a gift set that is supposed to feel luxury I think that really gets in the way. I am also very pale and while I appreciate that some of the items come in multiple colors to sample (that are tiny and basically one-time use), the CC serum is too dark for me. It's a tint, it's translucent, I'm sure some folks that are as light as me might use it, but those are likely folks that use a lot of bronzer and maybe sunless tanner and all that. It is just way too dark for my natural skin tone. Same for the bronzer. I imagine they are fine products for lots of other people but I'm not one of them. That's a challenge is how to be inclusive of different skin tones (on every part of the spectrum, both lighter skinned and darker skinned. Outside of that here are some notes on some of the other products. Hydra-Powder This doesn't make too much sense to me because hyaluronic acid helps your skin stay hydrated but to benefit from it, you need to cover it in an occlusive. This is a powder that goes on top. That being said, I've been using it to cut the shine on a cushion foundation I use that's a bit too dewy for me. To that end, it's been great. Terrybly Mascara It's fine. Incredibly unremarkable, just normal mascara. It washes off well so that's nice. Ombre Black Star Stick I liked this the best, nice color, blends well and glides on easily. Mini Kabuki Nice and portable, would be great for a purse if you need one on the go. I don't care a purse so I won't use it much. Hand Cream Smells very strongly of roses if that's your thing. Outside of that, it's pretty solid and creamy. Soaks in and doesn't leave my hands crazy greasy. So yeah, as someone who wants to try these products for themselves and feels that they are usable for their tone etc. this might be a good option - there is some value there for sure.     • $85 set and I don't know what to do with it...
Some of the samples in this set are so small, you can barely try it out before it's gone (like the foundation and concealer). For $85, this is disappointing. You can tell they were cutting corners wherever they could. The bag is cheap, the products are doll sized, and the shades provided are very dark. This doesn't make a good gift, and most of the items don't work for me because of shade or fragrance. So this expensive sampler just collects dust on my shelf. ... show more
