  • Intresting
Really Interesting. I got it as a gift for a friend. But I watched it first. For people in the Midwest/U.P enjoyable.

  • Interesting story about building the big bridge.
Its a fascinating story how they built a huge bridge across the straits in the 1950s. The towns there were tiny back then, but the ferry service wasn't enough to maintain traffic, not to mention the dangers of crossing the straits during the winter. BTW, if you ever go there on a motorcycle try to avoid driving on the steel deck segments, it makes motorcycle tires wiggle side to side. Some segments of this program were shot poorly which makes it somewhat uncomfortable to watch (someone fluttering their eyelids at the camera), but the sound it top notch and they had lots of great video shot during construction. Its a fascinating story, well worth watching again and again, especially if you've driven over it. ... show more

  • Great DVD set with 5 different documentaries including the Mackinac Ferries that ran before hand.
Excellent archival footage from the time periods and interviews with those that were there before, during and after construction! Loved this! A true behind the scenes look at a marval of our world!
