I scoured the internet for the best walking shoes for my work convention in Vegas where we walk 8+ miles a day! Last year my feet were killing me so I knew I had to invest in something to help this year. I ordered these early in case they need to be broken in. I’ll be wearing for the next couple of weeks before the trip! For activewear, they are versatile & can be dressed up or down. The cushion is so bouncy yet supportive. I feel like they have a platform look which gives a trendy vibe. I normally wear a 10 & ordered a 10W because of reviews. After wearing the Brooks Glycerin line for years because of an arthritic big toe, I was tentative about switching to the Ghost Max. I walk about 5 to 7 miles each day, and I need a supportive shoe for long distances. The Ghost Max is great! I would say it's more supportive than the Glycerin in that my foot does not move while walking within the shoe, it offers firm support with every stride. The toe box is plenty big even for my hallux limitus condition. Brooks are great running shoes, but the ghost work best for me. Had a pair that lasted for year before I had to replace. Used them anywhere from 3-5 times a week for 1 hour high intensity work outs, plus a two week trip in Israel, walking a lot. Tried the Trace and Hyperion Tempo, and while they are great, my feet will start hurting sometimes after running 25 minutes straight. The ghost offer more support, and don’t hurt my feet. A little more in cost, but worth it on the feet if you exercise 3 times or more each week. Plus these are super cute! I am 5, and wear a 7 - 7 1/2 wide, but purchased and 8 for exercising purposes. ... show more

This is my 2nd pair of Brooks. I am not a runner anymore, but loved how light and comfortable the first pair were. This pair is also light and comfy. Much higher and wider sole. Advertised as both walking and running which is perfect for me since I am a walker. I ordered a size larger as I have been doing in running shoes for 40 years bc of my long big toe and narrow foot. But I should have gone a half size smaller. The toe box is much wider than any pair I have ever owned, and seems longer too. The heel is not wider and fits great. Unfortunately I took them for a spin outside before I noticed so couldn't exchange. Doesn't seem to matter for walking but I wouldn't run with them like that. ... show more

I have issues with heal pain & these shoes have the extra cushion & support needed with looking chunky. They are great with jogging and/or power walking on the treadmill and fit in a rowers footplate for rowing. I’ve always loved Brooks shoes, however, these are the best!

Comfortable shoe with a nice wide toe box! Large sole gives you at least 1.5” in added height. Heels hurt after all day, but that expected with any shoe. I recommend these.

I have had multiple Brooks-these are the most cushiony. They are excellent for walking and running. They aren’t as light as the Revel or the Ghost 14s but not heavy. Very pleased.
