The sizing on these are a little wonky. I bought the XL because I am a woman's 11 and they were way too loose. I just got the large in the mail today, they fit a lot better, but the sole of the bottom is a quarter inch too short. I can deal with that though. These water socks fit as advertised. Many times you never know if you are getting the right size. These are comfortable and adjustable around the ankle. The sole is hard enough to protect from rocks but soft enough to remain comfortable.

    • Way too thin, neoprene portion is minimal, durability questioned
This was my first time purchasing and testing fin socks. I needed them for a week's trip of open water swimming several miles per day. First, they were they too small, despite having tried medium and large, and despite feet shrinking a bit in the cold water. Though my foot fits in the sock, the neoprene protection on the toes didn't cover my toes fully, and I expected it to at least go to where the ball of my foot begins. The rest of the sock is very thin, like a thin windbreaker or thick pantyhose. I tried them with my fins and I immediately felt the pressure from the strap, which definitely would have caused painful rubbing after a day or two. I returned them and instead purchased full neoprene socks on Amazon that were just perfect but about twice the price; those full neoprene ones are totally worthwhile and I have no doubt they'll be much more durable and they also kept my feet warmer. I wouldn't trust these to even walk on the beach without looking down, as even a delicate sharp object would likely cause pain. These socks came with a note from the seller indicating that if I wasn't happy, they would refund me and I could keep the socks as long as I didn't leave negative feedback. These are very thin and I wouldn't wear these as "water shoes," but they worked okay with fins for snorkeling/SCUBA diving. I was looking for something small and lightweight to pack in my suitcase, since I was doing carry-on only to Australia. Pros: Did save my heels from blisters when I was swimming with fins that were rubbing. Lightweight and pack down no larger than a pair of long socks. Cons: The seams rub uncomfortably around the toes. These would definitely create blisters of their own with enough use! ... show more

Every year I burn my feet on the hot sand on vacation, these were super comfy and definitely protected my feet the whole time we were at the beach, way less sand gets in them than regular water shoes. Very good design, perfect fit and sand do not enter, but after 10 days (60 miles) waking in fine sand beach they have two big holes. Same happened to my wife's pair, bought together.
