Initially it worked perfectly. Now the floodlights will not come on. Update: Their customer service is amazing. They worked with me to troubleshoot the unit but ultimately replaced it. It was a very easy process.

    • Camera with Floodlight
Doorbell was not working well, so opted to return for this package and this works very well for what we intended around the house. We are still trying to set up to get best sensitivity from motion to catch speeding vehicles in neighborhood. For people and animals, it does pick up very well when motion is triggered, but too sensitive for small animals....that's the only drawback. Otherwise, great set up and was easy to install without breaking out all my electrical tools. :) ... show more

    • CAMERA IS GOOD BUT NOT GREAT
Camera works great an everything, but after few months of use it started to work off and on and sometimes the motion sensor does not detect movement. Floodlight works good it's bright but could be brighter

No outlet so wireless capability is a must. WiFi is not the best but that is my issue. The technology is out there but the night vision without the spot lights on is a little disappointing. Used the "siding" mounting bracket that came with the unit. The association will not allow permanent mounting so this is perfect. Unit is a little heavy (four D cell batteries). Consider that when & where you mount your unit. The motion sensor works very well. The dual lights are more than adequate. You may adjust the settings, length & sensitivity. This is my 5th Blink product. Recommend if you have no other alternatives. ... show more

    • False sense of security camera
I was leery of getting a wireless camera to begin with and this setup has confirmed all my concerns. No continuous recording, only when motion is detected do you get a recording... if motion is detected. This camera has completely missed me walking from my mailbox to my front door (right across the middle of it's field of view) several times in just the first two days. However, it never fails to pick up blowing leaves, bugs, and car headlights. I'm inundated with clips of nothing, while it consistently misses actual people walking through the yard. Sensitivity setting lowers false alarms but doesn't improve missed motion of actual people. Pure garbage and absolutely useless if being relied on for actual security. This is a gadget to play around with and show your friends a live view on your phone. It's worthless for watching your house. What else is wrong? Field of view is too narrow. Think you'll cover your front yard with one cam? Think again. Two at a minimum and with their poor detection area, better plan on three per side of your house. Literally every setting warns you that actually turning it up to get what you paid for will greatly impact battery life. Better quality video, motion sensitivity, light brightness, longer recordings, shorter post-recording dead time, etc. Anything and everything you change to try to make this useless play toy function like a security camera is going to decimate battery life. This thing is going back ASAP and I'll spend more on something that actually works for the purpose it's sold for... Security, not fun playing with apps. ... show more

    • Records in color at night yet beware of the batteries:
We have purchased most of the current line of Blink products. They are well-thought out but can be quirky as you likely already know if you are considering the Blink Floodlight add-on. Let’s start with the positives. The sensor works well and it truly blasts powerful light. Night is now day and your recordings will be in beautifully defined color. The bulbs are adjustable to help you angle them in the best light for you. However, I am concerned about battery corrosion and possibly short longevity and a ruined product. Let’s explain: All of the other Blinks come with excellent Energizer lithium AA batteries. Yet this module requires four D cells. Blinks don’t work with rechargeable batteries yet the only D cell lithiums on the market are indeed rechargeable. Thus, Amazon has included four typical Duracell alkaline batteries. What’s the problem? Read on: I used to think this brand was the best in alkaline batteries yet over the years I have had countless remotes and kids toys ruined by them. They leak acid quickly and I recommend avoiding them. I actually have a package on one year old unopened Duracells that already have white acid corrosion all over the batteries. When I have called the complain they are good about replacing bad batteries but that’s no help with a ruined device. They don’t accept responsibility for that. Thus, with an expensive module like this Blink, I’m extremely leery about using this brand, especially given the challenges of this device being outside year-round. Lately, I have been satisfied with with AmazonBasics alkalines and I may swap these in immediately. My hope is that if they corrode, Amazon might be flexible if their batteries damage their own brand of solar security system. Hope this too long review has been of some small help. We recently decided to look into security cameras for outside our home. We looked at several options and finally decided on Blink. We bought several cameras, including the floodlight for our garage/shop. It included everything we needed to mount it and it was pretty easy to set up and connect. The motion detection captures when people are in our driveway. It does capture the occasional stray cat as well. I haven't had any issues with it staying connected to wifi and the lights are bright. After our free trial, we decided to keep the Blink Plus plan and all our cameras are on it. We are very happy with our purchase and have recommended Blink to our friends. ... show more
