I'm really not sure what the bad reviews are about. This thing is great! I have an autistic 6 year old. I thought he was pretty brutal with his toys, but maybe he's not. The spiral took about 5 minutes for me to put together, and it's his favorite Christmas present! His train set is in the middle of the livingroom floor, right in the way. The dogs are always tripping on it, and my son plays with it often. It stays together very well. I have to straighten a few pieces out now and then, but it's a quick easy process. Honestly, it stays together far better than I dared to hope, considering all the abuse it has been through in the few weeks since Christmas! It fits his little wooden dinosaur train beautifully and it matched up perfectly with his old set, and the new brachiosaurus bridge. My son is very happy, and so am I! ... show more

Great price and kid had fun but very difficult to understand how to setup as parts so similar in size and have no useful markings (numbering would be great). Would not buy again because frustrating toys make for angry kids.

    • Not easy for kids to assemble
I liked the idea of this as it allowed expansion of the wooden train sets. Kids love tho dogs that go around, not just in a line. However, we found it difficult to assemble as pieces are very similar in size and are not numbered or anything. My husband had to assemble it for my 6-year old Grandson and it took awhile.     • My son loves it, I think it’s a bit pricey
My son had been wanting to make this type of a spiral for the longest time using his wooden tracks and lifts that he has, but couldn’t accomplish it. After looking everywhere for one, I found this one. I think it’s a little pricey for what you actually get. Plus, it’s really hard to put together in my opinion. My son is 5, and has been playing with wooden trains since he was 1, and he can now make these amazing train tracks, but there’s no way he could put this together without my help. After it’s put together, it’s great, but I don’t want to tear it down after it’s put together! ... show more

    • Maybe a good toy for an older child who has a lot of patience.
Idea is great, but design is not. I got it for 3.5 year old son, who loves building rail roads. He kept asking for this addition to his building material. At this point he is not able to assemble it by himself, and it took some time for me to put is together. The structure is so flimzy, that with every train movement, some parts keep falling or moving, which gives a nervous meltdown to a child. This is an amazing, helpful toy. It saves space while extending the length of the track since it is raised and has levels. It is durable. It requires adult assembly... however, after watching me assemble it twice, my five year old can do it on his own.

if they love trains--thomas etc.--they will love this. very creative. great for manual or battery operated vehicles (use alkaline). it is just the right height too. the pieces aren't labeled, so you have to either measure them or just figure it out when assembling it.
