First off, the good: this machine has super potential. It’s sturdy without being too heavy, has a super fine laser dot, and enough power to cut 2mm ply in one pass. I can absolutely see places to use this combination of power and portability. Unfortunately… mine had a fatal flaw. Tracking along the cantilever arm had a wiggle in it. Letters didn’t close, circles weren’t circular, anything that involved simultaneous travel in both X and Y axes was going to have a bobble. Straight lines in just one axis were fine. This portable engraver is a great investment for anyone who’s looking into the field of pyrography/engraving. Setup is a breeze, and the artwork you can make on it is incredible. I’ve been doing art on tiles. You can’t go wrong with this engraver.

The Atomstak P9 M40 engraver was easy to assemble. It works with Lightburn and LaserGRBL. I have been engraving things for a craft fair and it is working really well..
