These are comfy and well padded with good support. They bend in the correct place (behind the ball of the foot). I have several foot issues. I lifted my big toes in the photo to show my right foot is longer than my left. My right foot is also taller, partly due to a neuroma, which is why that shoe's laces are loose. Add to that, I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot due to chronic rheumatic issues. I have not yet tried these shoes with custom orthotics because I'm enjoying the cushioning with good support. I used to run in Asics Kayano series and believe these Gel Contend 7s would also be good for running, if only I could. ... show more

I purchased these after months of my coworker telling me how comfortable Asics are. I bought them during a flash sale and gave them a few days to break them in (although they honestly didn't need it at all) before I went back and bought a second pair because they are honestly the most comfortable sneakers I've ever worn!! I do suggest sizing up at least half a size because they are very cushioned. But so far I have used these as normal every day shoes, I've worn them to work, and I've exercised multiple times in these and I can't sing their praises enough. Asics convert for sure! ... show more

I bought the same kind of shoe (Asics gel contend 7) 1 year ago because I was impressed with the support and comfort, especially the arch support. They were the only comfortable sport shoes at the store. So I bought these on Amazon recently and tried them on... the support felt just like the pair I have had for over a year... not when I first bought them though... I mean they feel like they are already worn down, no padding, and absolutely zero arch support. The whole reason I bought the new ones was so they would give the support I needed for my high arches and sore feet. I'm really disappointed. I have been looking for a pair of light weight athletic shoes for quite some time to no avail, until I saw these! I have an injury to my left foot and it stays swollen for days at a time, making it very hard for me to wear most of my shoes and to even be comfortable. I bought these in a 1/2 size larger than my normal size and wide width to accomodate this injury. I was sceptical until they arrived. They have very good support, soles are light and airy but absorb shock well, the wide width and 1/2 up make it easy for me to wear these on my injured foot and actually walk in them with minimal pain!!! I havn't purchased ASICS in many years but I will be a repeat buyer now! I bought the SHEET ROCK/PINK SALT color combo and they are cute! And what makes it even better is I got them at a true bargain price. ( around 39$) I am so pleased with the fit and comfortability of these shoes I will purchase another pair in a differance color soon. I am so glad I found these!! I purchased these shoes for walking on our new treadmill. I generally wear a size 9 wide, but based on other reviews, I ordered a 9.5 wide. They're comfortable enough, but I probably would have been just fine with a 10 wide. It seems to me, for being a wide shoe, that the laces aren't quite long enough. For the thirty five dollar price I paid, I think they're worth it. I think when I move from walking to running I'll need a better pair of shoes, but for now, these will do just fine. ... show more

It feels nice walking on it ao far. I'm glad I listened to the reviews though - definitely size up. I wear 8.5 on a normal day and ordered 9 and it fits snug, hopefully will losen a bit after some use but I'll probably have to wear thin socks so it's not too tight.

Great price for decent ASICS shoes. They are great for daily use in gym, walking, etc. Average support. However, cushioning is not close to a higher priced ASICS. I would not want to run too long in these shoes but would need more cushioning. These run wide in toe box so much room for toes to spread out however they are very short…definitely weird and off in sizing…I am usually a size 8 in ASICS but had to go up to 8.5 which slightly big but 8 was simply too short. ... show more

Repurchased for a second time, definitely take a little time to break in but once you do they practically mold to your foot, most comfortable and last me way longer than nike or adidas training shoes for daily cardio / running / strength training
