I like the look... In person, these look pretty sharp to me; just as nice as shown on the product page. Also happy with the appearance of build quality, materials used, etc. While my foot tends towards wide, I don't typically order wide shoes. These have a comfortable width, without being sloppy. I suspect if you have an average to slightly wide forefoot, these will work for you. If narrow, I think they may be wobbly. I wear and ordered a size 11; happy with the length and overall fit. I don't and likely won't own a pair of Hokas, but it would seem these are emulating the thick sole of a Hoka. I find them to feel about a, slightly more than "medium" firmness; not squishy. If 1 is softest and 10 is hardest, I'd put these right in the middle; about a 5 or 5.5. At times they are a little like walking in sand (I weigh 162). In addition to the outdoor test (below) I did a strength training workout in these, which began with a cardio warm up on a step. Also did various body weight exercises (squats, lunges, pushups, wall sit) and so at various levels of impact, had that "sand" sense. The insoles are removable so if you want to put plantar fasciitis type insoles in these or whatever, it won't be a problem. I suspect, based on the outsoles themselves, most will not need a more cushy insole; what came with these works fine for me. I do a one mile morning wake up walk around my neighborhood on sidewalk and street; these felt good on that walk. I was aware of the thick cushioned sole and could feel a bit of bounce/bounce-back as I walked. The actual tread really is a walking/gym type tread, not a trail runner or hiking hilly terrain, type tread. The outdoor "test" walk was the day after rain, so bits of dirt leaves and of course water was what I walked through. There is no image on the product page, but the tread is super fine for about 85% of the sole. That results in stuff (dirt mostly) getting caught in the super fine crevices of that sole. Even a stiff bristle brush couldn't get all of the stuff out from the tread; clean enough, but if you're a stickler for that sort of thing you either have to live with it or don't take them somewhere (wet) with loose dirt. All in all, I like these and will enjoy rotating them in with my, too many for one person, shoes. Glad I ordered.
