I was lucky enough to get an invitation from Amazon to buy the Darth Vader Echo Dot stand on prime day; have been loving it ever since I got it. The lights are just fine, you can see the lights nicely through Darth Vader‘s eyes and overall, am very satisfied with it. My only complaints are with Alexa: 1.) I can’t get Alexa to make the sound of Darth Vader breathing; 2.) I cannot get it to say “I am your father“; 3.) There’s no way to change the wake up from “Alexa” to “Lord Vader“. (That would be really cool). [Actually, would love to be able to change the wake up to “Hal“ (2001 A Space Odyssey), but that’s another issue]. Would have gotten a storm trooper helmet stand for the Echo Dot in the bedroom, but that Echo has a clock; the storm trooper helmet would block the clock so… Set up was unbelievably simple, he just line the slot for the power cord in the stand up with the power cord for the echo dot, stick the echo dock into the stand and you’re good to go. Nothing to it. Anyone complaining about not being able to see the lights, that would be an issue with the echo dot itself and not with the stand. Also, I can’t see how the stand could possibly damage the echo dot to where the lights wouldn’t come on anymore. All in all I highly recommend this to anyone who is a Star Wars fan. ... show more

As many other reviewers have mentioned, the idea of the Mando stand is cool, but the implementation is sub par. The images on the sales page are not accurate unless you are willing to get creative. Both the light ring for Gen 4 & 5 Dor's is too low so in the stand, you don't see the eyes glow, more like the nose lights up. Once you raise the Dot by 1/4 or 1/2" then it is a better alignment and you get a nice light effect. Since Amazon does not allow developers control the light ring colors (understandable since they indicate Echo status) the Night Light skill by Voice Arcade does allow you to cause ring to light up sustain operation like the default blue/light blue activation state. Overall it is a geek neat item that disappoints in some common areas others might care about. FYI - Brightness is a function of ambient light and only the clock version have a user controllable level, so in a brighter room Dot glows brighter. I am not able to "prove" this as a listed feature so consider it a rumor. ... show more

So I love the Madalorian show, and though this would be a cute thing to have around. Pair it up with the male voice for Alexa, and slow it down a little, and it's a pretty close match. I will note that this seems to be not quite well designed for any particular Echo device. The Gen4 Dot (round, shown) has it's ring a little too low. I used a few layers of cardboard from the shipping box to get it to the right height to make it more visible. The Gen3 puck ALSO FITS in this perfectly. The only problem is that to properly get the ring light, you have to put it in upside-down; but once you do, it's perfectly positioned.. That does make the mic a little less accurate (not much), and of course means you can't hit the top buttons. But let's be honest, when was the last time you touched those buttons? I kind of almost like the puck in there better, since it gives it a flat head. I may think about buying some silver PLA and printing a top cover for it to make the look complete some day. ... show more

Waited so long for a Vader Alexa stand and i was only a little disappointed. It feels solid and has a little weight to it so it feels sturdy and durable - Great Alexa fits well into it and the cable management is only for 1 cable but thankfully I use only the power cable and not any external aux. - Great Audio gets slightly muffled whilst in stand - Expected but still Very Decent The lit Eyes - Not happy (the advertised pic shows the eye glow bright with the light from the Alexa, however, the diffusers in the stand are maybe too strong and the light is very dim even in a darkened room.) The only thing missing, TBH, is more customization for for the voice assistant. I wish there were options like a Vader voice or others to go along with the stand or respective stands. Overall, not a bad buy but I did wish the light would be brighter naturally and it didnt cost as much. I'm not saying half the price but like a shaven version. ... show more

I was excited when this came out and was able to get it on sale! I knew it was going to be cool but never knew it was going to be SUPER cool! It is also not as bulky and clumsy as I thought it was going to be. It is made very well and is a sturdy product. I wouldn’t pay higher than what I paid for during the sale. I was really looking forward to getting this. So you can understand how very disappointed I am to find that it doesn't even come close to fitting the 4th Gen Echo Dot. The description needs to corrected. Ah well, time to begin the return process... **UPDATE** I already had the return processed, but could not follow through with it. I really like the look of it, so I purchased a certified refurbished 5th gen Echo dot. I am not even a big Star Wars fan and I still think this is pretty cool. These were a must have for me! I had to get all three! I like the way they stand out, I love that the echo dot fits right in there and the way the eyes light up. It looks too cool! The down side to the Mandolorian one is the echo dot seemed to fit lower in so the light wasn’t lined up where it should be. So I did put a two pieces of a cardboard box inside for my echo dot to sit on top of to level it in there. I’m not disappointed at all by these, now under my Alexa app I have them named as each one to make it easier. I’ve received so many compliments about these! ... show more
