  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Great value, but missing ONE important feature.....
Color: Black Size: 11 Inch
I just received this folding step stool yesterday, and upon opening the package, it was surprising to me how flat this product folds down to. After looking at it and testing it out, I was able to slide it into a spot behind a box in my closet that was less than 2" wide. Pretty incredible. It makes for great storage. Now, the thing that really matters....what do I think of the product in terms of being used as a step stool. Ill be honest, it was a little worrying the first time I un-folded it into a step and stood on it. While Ill say that it seemed fairly sturdy, I think I speak for nearly EVERY person that has purchased and used one of these folding step stools when I say what it needs....what every person would feel safer and more secure about if it had it.....is some way when you un-fold it into a step, for it to "lock", and click into place. And for it to stay locked and be able to physically see that some component is securely in place, and there's no chance of it moving or collapsing while the customer is standing on it. Because not only did I read multiple reviews before I purchased it of customers saying the same thing and that it was worrying how easy it folded back and forth, and that there was no audible or visual component to assure the customer its opened all the way and it would stay that way, but I myself also experienced the same concern when I was standing on it, and if its not completely opened ALL the way before you stand on it, or if the sides are not folded completely out, then there's a chance it could fold back up when weight is put on it. I even read a few reviews of people who went to stand on it, having it fold back up on one side, causing that side to collapse, along with the customer, because they thought they had folded it completely out before they stood on it. And unfortunately the point where its all the way folded out, and NOT folded out enough is a very small amount. And the stool almost wants to fold back up on its own because of the way its designed. Now I want to make it clear that what I'm saying does not refer to just this exact, particular model being sold here. This goes for every plastic, folding step stool that I'm aware of. I've never seen one personally, or seen one advertised with a safety feature ensuring the customer that when you unfold it, there is a visual and/or audible click that shows the customer it is in fact locked and it won't move or unfold again until the customer themselves physically release or unlock the mechanism. Because I will say that because of its design, and it wanting to fold back up naturally, and because of the light material its made of, it does make it a bit uncomfortable when your standing on it. And I wish this wasn't such a big deal because it really is. Perhaps there IS an inexpensive, plastic, folding model that locks that I'm not aware of. If there is I would love to know about it, as would I'm sure every customer who is interested in an inexpensive step stool option. Now I've seen metal step stools that just have the legs fold out and lock, but they are more expensive, not as light weight, and not as collapsible and portable as the plastic folding options. The plastic folding options do have that aspect going for them and I think that represents a large part of their appeal, is that they are so light weight and portable that ANYONE can pick up, carry, unfold, and use one. They are just missing that ONE simple locking feature. And for that reason, although they are a good value for the money, I can only give it 3 stars. I hope one day soon I can give a similar one 5 stars 🙂 ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Revised review ☺️
Color: Thicken Black Size: 13 Inch
Update: I've had this stool for nearly 4 months now and it's still holding up well. However, I always have to make sure to step as far to the side as I can because of it sinking in on me the first time I used it when I stepped up on it in the center. The limit's advertised as 300lbs. I weigh 220. It doesn't tip at all, not even the slightest amount, and I step up on the edge every night so if it were going to tip over it's had many opportunities to do so. I still don't like the fact that I have to be so specific regarding where I put my foot and can't utilize the entire surface because I'm afraid of putting my foot through it and hurting myself. Feeling the top surface sink under my foot once was enough warning for me. The other things I like about this stool are not only is it the perfect height for me but I love the non-slip strips that cover the top surface, and I appreciate that it's so easily foldable to put out of the way although I leave mine in the same spot near the bed. I would've given 5 stars if it the right limit were true. I highly recommend this stool, but only for lightweights. I've been searching all over Amazon and a few other's sites for weeks for a wooden step stool that's taller than 9" to no avail. Then I checked for a metal one and found the same thing... 8-9” max. Although I deeply detest plastic furnishings I know that I need a stool to get up on my bed to prevent me from straining and hurting myself. I saw this stool had a height of 13" and even though it's plastic I thought it would do until I could physically search for something in a store that's made of wood that I can use as a stool. The weight capacity for this is mentioned for 300lbs and I fell for the hype! I unboxed this thing, removed the ugly stickers, wiped it down, and placed it next to my bed. Then I went to step on it and the middle of it sunk as though it were getting ready to break. Let me just say I usually don't make any purchases without researching for days and sometimes weeks, but some weeks had already passed and I was thinking I wouldn't be using this for long. Well after the scary experience of having it sink on me I came here to read the reviews and now I regret wasting my money, even if it was only $20. I can't begin to say how disappointed I am. I won't give up my search for wood, and I'm hoping this plastic stool will last until I can either find a sturdy wooden one or go to Home Depot and buy the lumber and make one myself. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Holds up to my heavy arse!
Color: Dot Blue Size: 13 Inch
Originally got this for my mother-in-law to get in and out of the truck when she would visit. She didn't come up, but I kept it anyway. At first, I used it to sit next to my dog while she ate... she was a pup, so she was being difficult! It didn't break! I, then, decided to get ballsy and try standing on it to put holes in my walls to hang decor. I was impressed! I'm chunky with stubby legs, so I figured, worst case scenario, it's not a fall to my death, it's just a short distance! Low and behold, it held me! Not once did I feel like it was going to break into pieces! Now, I didn't do a dance on it or anything crazy, so I can't speak of how that would work! It can hold 300+ lbs for just standing to destroy wall panels or hang removable hooks outside (which usually fall off anyway!) If you do a ditty on it and are chunky, like me, make sure you comment that so we know if we must remain still or if we can move without fear of falling on our bottoms! ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Multi-tasking Folding Step Stool is an ingenious product.
Color: Dot Grey Size: 16 Inch
I have several ACKO Folding Step Stools. I like the way they look - is that nuts? They are so convenient. When folded, you can stash them in the narrowest areas like by your refrigerator or washer. It is only 1.5 inches thick when folded flat. They are quite sturdy - I weigh 210 and it just seems so stable and solid. Plus they are great for sitting when assembling furniture or whatever. Just use it, fold it up and hang or stash it. The smaller ones are good for your kiddos too - they could find dozens of uses for them and the smaller versions are pretty safe for a kid to stand on (carefully). Just teach them to watch out for pinching their fingers when folding. ... show more
