  • Great headset for the price!
Size: Wired Style: Cloud Stinger
I burn through headsets and controllers like it is my damn job, they are always breaking on me... I've gone through several of the more expensive headsets within the last couple of years, but this cheaper pair has lasted 9 months already and they still work great. The sound is awesome, the speaker/mic is excellent, they're comfortable, and I never have issues hearing others, hearing the game, or other people hearing me. They have been far more reliable and durable than the more expensive headsets ever were. It just plugs into your controller, whoch is wireless anyway, so it's not like you are stuck six feet away from your PS5 or anything. It eats up the battery on your controller a little faster, since the battery us literally being used for both the controller itself and the headphones, but it is not a dramatic change. My solution to this, was buying a ten foot charging cable for the controller, since I'm usually pretty close to my tv while playing anyway, and just always having it plugged in while I play. That way, I'm almost ten feet away and my controller never dies, AND my headset is plugged in for maximum ambience as I play. If I need to get up and grab a drink and don't feel like taking the headset off becsuse I am in the middle of a conversation, I can just unplug the charging cable from the controller and just keep the controller in my hand and the headset on my head. I can literally go anywhere in the house while doing this and the other party can still hear my clearly. The only drawback is your ears may get a little sore after a very long game marathon, but it takes a while. Like, a long while... Like, 6-8 hours in, when you should be getting off and taking a break anyway. But they are generally quite comfortable unless you have giant ears that go beyond the little ear cups. ... show more

  • Easily the best headset I've ever owned, and I've spent thousands.
Size: Wireless Style: Cloud Stinger Core
I've owned all the top tier 200-300 dollar wireless gaming headsets going all the way back to 2010. These are loud, have the "turn mic boom up to mute" feature I love. They are lightweight, which over time I have realized is probably the most important feature for a comfortable headset. The battery lasts forever. If I average a few hours a night I don't have to charge for weeks. It works flawlessly with PC with no additional setup. I use these as my main headset on PS5 and they are outstanding. All around I have to say these are the perfect headset I've been searching for all these years. The range is also crazy long. I use these in my 3000SQFT shop, and I can walk all around my large metal building, go out and check something in my truck, come back and go to the other side to check my plants, and all the while still be connected and talking to my party on my PS5 setup at the office. The value is insane for 60$. I've had the top tier Steel series, many 300$ sets of turtle beach and logitechs. These are the best I've ever had. Battery, Range, Sound Quality, Mic quality, comfort, and the boom up to mute feature. So simple to use and they JUST WORK as Todd Howard would say. ... show more

  • Great value but definitely has it's cons.
Size: Wired Style: Cloud Stinger Core
I've been using these for long enough to see it's flaws as well as what is great about them. I guess I'll jump straight into pros and cons PROS: - lightweight (hardly any pressure on the head at all) - very affordable - EXTREMELY durable (I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally yanked and knocked them off my desk onto the floor. Also I recommend looking up videos of how much HyperX headsets can twist and flex.) - easily accessible mic - the earpads are fabric and not some soft, leathery texture (this is subjective but I dislike leathery earpads as they begin to flake and fall apart after a while) - mic sounds clear CONS: - the cable extends from both ear cups (this bothers me as they just get in the way frequently and feel awkward sometimes. Also forces you to take the headset off only one way and that way is forward) - sometimes the sound quality isn't the best (at this price you of course don't have the best drivers. When clicking through the PS4 menus I can hear a slight crackling of sorts after each *boop* as well as game menus) - the volume wheel is confusing (there's no visual representation on the wheel, which sticks out from both sides, so you literally never know which way will turn up or down the volume) - the rubber on the bendable mic looks... powdery? (this is obviously just a visual thing so not the biggest issue, but it is quite odd. It somehow went from black to having a grey powdery look, which can kinda be wiped off. Just odd IMO) - setting the volume at max using the wheel offsets the audio (luckily for myself I typically don't need to have the headphones set at max volume, but on the games that seem to be very quiet I notice that setting the volume wheel all the way up somehow causes one of the ears to be louder than the other) To wrap things up I just want to say that these headphones are actually still great for the purpose and value. I bought them for a little more than $25 and can easily recommend them for the average gamer on a budget. Using them in Call of Duty Warfare and Rainbow Six Siege (as well as many other titles) I was able to pinpoint directional audio and crush the competition. These headphones were the beginning of my relationship with HyperX and I'm now a fan. Update: I’ve recently gotten a PS5 and the headsets are better than they were before. The PS5 controller pushes more power to the headset and provides more than enough volume whereas the PS4 was a little too quiet. Sounds great on PS5. Still a recommendation for those on a budget. It’s been two years and they are still my primary headset. Second favorite headset and that’s saying something considering most of my headsets have been $80+ ... show more
