We have an unusual garage/driveway design where we can't see the driveway from anywhere inside our house. We struggled with options for several years, not wanting to run power and mount some hideous camera on the side of our house. Then we found this video keypad and couldn't be happier. We have two single garage doors with independent keypads, so we installed two of these, one on each side (one facing to the right and one facing to the left). Now we have a 180 degree view of both sides of the garage, one into the backyard and another down the driveway to the street. They were really easy to install (but for the drilling-into-metal process, which isn't related to the keypad) and connected instantly. Battery life seems REALLY good; installed about 4 months ago with only minimal power drain since then. Highly recommended. Just do it. ... show more

Exterior garage door keypads haven't advanced much in years, either you buy a replacement the same as the old one, with buttons that are annoyingly hard to push/register, and take 2 or 3 tries, or you upgrade slightly to some other beige boxy keypad that doesn't really improve much. So this one was intriguing, and surprisingly easy to get working. Follow the simple instructions and replace your current keypad, even using at least one of the same screw holes. Other than charging the battery, it probably only took 10 minutes total to get working and in place on the garage - it learns the garage door code just like the openers in your car learn it, simple button push. I don't use the stored video so there's no subscription fee, ignore any reviews that say it's mandatory, it just isn't. You get a 30-day trial to try it, though. It's very similar to Amazon's Ring subscription. That said, you can also always view it live, which I use to make sure I have closed the garage door if I think maybe I forgot, or see what's going on in blind spots of my driveway. It's also not much more expensive than the old style keypads, so no reason not to try it (get it on sale for around $61 if you can). No idea about how it will survive the winter months, so we'll see. But the buttons are easier to push, the home key closes the doors without a code, and you get the video feed. Give it a shot, I think you'll like it. ... show more

The unit works very well at opening and closing the garage door. It was very easy to set up and install. However, there is about a 10 hour wait for the battery to charge. After that, the video is clear and like I stated above, it works well. The “extra” features are available behind a pay wall for a monthly fee, such as face detection, motion alerts and recording the video. The WiFi to the unit is poor and it causes the video to load slowly or not at all. I have good coverage, but I may need to add an extender in the garage for this unit. I would recommend this unit if you would like to add a key pad and video would be nice. Otherwise, it might be too expensive if you do not plan to use the “extra” features. ... show more

I now have 2 myQ products. The first was to remotely activate my garage door when I forget to close it. It is convenient to have the camera as well. I needed something for some workers who needed access to my garage. I didn't want to leave a key. The keypad is set up so that I can multiple pins for different people and I can set the access times for when they can come in. I can see which person is activating the garage. The only thing I wish now is that myQ offers a doorbell camera, that way I can have the same product throughout my home. It is very easy to set up. ... show more
