I bought a couple of these about two years ago. They worked so well that I ordered more. I was impressed with how much light they give off and they consistently work. Installed in an average traffic area around our home, the batteries lasted a year before needing replacement. Totally worth it! They work so well we decided to NOT install exterior path lighting when we renovated and that is saying a LOT because we live in a coastal area where corrosion of exterior fixtures is the norm. Using will save the cost of exterior light installation and replacement. It is very difficult to find affordable marine grade path lighting, but these Ring lights are sealed. Moisture does not get into them. The only thing I was concerned about is someone walking off with them,, but that has not happened. I was not sure about their contemporary design, but after installing them realized they will fit anywhere. It is also great to have battery operated lights, because most solar light usually fail within 6 months to a year and these light can be installed in shaded areas where solar lights will not work. ... show more

The new Ring smart lighting line is a great compliment to my Ring Floodlight Cameras. In particular, I wanted to light up more of the front of the house when my driveway's floodlight camera detected motion. I purchased four of the new Ring pathlights and a hub. Now, when the driveway light detects motion, it turns on the pathlights. The setup process went smoothly. You plug the hub in and scan a barcode and the app walks you through setup. Then, you do the same with these pathlights... insert batteries into each and scan a barcode from each box. At the end, you can set up groups of lights with different names. Then you can use the app to decide what other devices can turn these lights on. For example, I set my driveway floodlight camera to light up these four pathlights, lighting the walkway to the front door. You can have the lights then turn off 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes, or 5 minutes. You can also set a timeframe that lights can be triggered between each day, and more advanced schedules during the week. Response time is not immediate. When my floodlight camera detects motion and turns on its lights, it takes 3-5 seconds for these pathway lights to turn on. I have a very strong Wi-Fi signal in the house and I have the Ring hub close to the front of the house where the lights are. The Ring smart hub, required for any of the new smart lighting products, does not have a very good Wi-Fi radio on it and I found that it struggled to get a good signal despite my strong signal throughout the house to all other devices. Perhaps that is the reason for the delay? There is a "dusk to dawn" feature that will keep your pathlights dimly lit all night and then brighten up when motion is detected. You can turn this off so the lights do not stay dimly lit all night and just turn on during motion to save batteries. The color temperature of these lights is much closer to white than I was hoping for. I wanted more of a soft white to match my other outdoor lights. But since these lights don't stay on for very long, it's okay. They are not "daylight" bright or have any blue in it, but they are not quite soft white either. I'm not sure how well or for how long these will stand up to the elements. I will report back if I see any signs of deterioration or moisture inside. I do wish they were made of metal instead of plastic though. Ring recommends against using rechargeable batteries: "Ring recommends using standard alkaline batteries in Pathlights. Rechargeable batteries will work in Ring Pathlights, though they may not last as long as alkaline batteries. Heavy duty batteries should not be used in Ring Pathlights. Lithium batteries will also work in Ring Pathlights and are recommended when the weather is extremely cold." Five stars for now because they do exactly what I wanted them to - light up more of the front of my home when motion is detected. If I have any issues in the future, I will update. ... show more

These are well built, and seem quite hardy. I live in Oregon, but itโ€™s quite sunny where live, though it has been overcast. Initially, not getting great battery life. Wrote review, and Ring actually reached out to me. Changed the settings (Not all need to have sensing on) and battery life is much better. Overall pleased. 5/5 for Ring service. ... show more

I bought these lights in the beginning of July 2021 Its been about three weeks and all I have to say is that they are awesome. They have a nice design and they have a subtle glow when they are in stand by mode. These are the battery ones, I bought a set of three to illuminate a flower bed that doesnโ€™t get alot of sunshine. I needed 12 D batteries so I bought a pack at Costco. I inserted the batteries and followed the instructions to set up the lights. Remember you need the Ring bridge so they can work and set up your schedules, motion and light settings. So far the batteries are still at 100% after three weeks. I also have 4 solar smart lights and they are all linked together so if one senses motion they all come on to full brightness. The light output is very bright and I like the way they illuminate the front of the house. Everything is controlled via The Ring app, so far no issues they all come on from dusk to dawn. I know they are pricey but in my opinion there is nothing better out there that you can control from the comfort of your home in your pajamas. I think the negative reviews are from people complaining about the battery cost. If I can get ten months to a year of battery life Iโ€™m ok with that. Iโ€™ll just go to Costco and buy another set of batteries when they go sale. Iโ€™ll be buying more in the future for my backyard or maybe expand my system with other Ring smart lights. I love these lights! They are bright, come on when you approach them, and with the bridge, can be controlled with your phone. Haven't had them long but I'm confident the batteries will last because the time lit, brightness, and motion sensitivity is programmable down to one minute, and they can be "snoozed" for hours when not needed. THERE IS ONE PROBLEM however. One of the stakes that accompany these has broken, and I cannot find a replacement ANYWHERE. These stakes are made specific to Ring as they snap into the base of the lights, making "generic" stakes unusable. Please make replacements available, as one of my lights has been rendered useless without a stake. REVISED REVIEW: The folks at Ring contacted me and have replaced my Ring Pathlight that had a broken stake. As a result of this amazing customer service I will reset my review to 5 stars. Thanks Ring for making a great product and standing by it when something goes awry. ... show more
