Just got this in a couple of days ago. I've been looking at air purifiers for several months and after the wife recently had a friend come clean the house, realized just how dusty our house had become. Living a few miles out of town in SW Oklahoma and it's WAY dustier than when we lived in town. So anyway, after the cleaning gig, decided it was time to get serious about choosing a purifier to try. Of course, there are literally HUNDREDS of them on the market so I've read many, many reviews. I kept coming back to 2 or 3 and then I noticed that Amazon had this one on sale at, what seemed to me, an affordable price. So, with the sale price, the features listed, and favorable reviews I pulled the trigger on this one. Took just a few minutes to load the filters and get it going. It's a nice looking machine and seems to be built well. Nothing really flimsy feeling about it. The front is lock-hinged at the top and uses magnets to close at the bottom, so that's cool. The filters are quality feeling and fit well. Nothing cheap-o looking about them. The machine runs almost dead-silent on low speed. Noticeable sound on medium, and could probably be used as a white-noise fan-sound on high. Using the remote is easy and you can switch through the options of having the status-display on or off, turn on the Anion ionizer or not, set the timer if preferred, and set it to 'sleep mode'. It also has an 'auto mode' for adapting to the air quality it senses by increasing or decreasing the fan speed on its own. I've initially set it to low speed with the ionizer on, and that's where I've left it. The wife asked me, "How do we tell if it's working?"............Ha, good question. I told her, "Well, I don't know, maybe we'll see less dust in the house at some point (with a shoulder shrug)". So anyway, fast forward a couple of days and she remarked, "You know I was cutting onions for our soup (she is cooking ALL the time) and threw the onions in the trash, and normally they stink up the house, but got up the next day and couldn't smell them at all". I got to thinking about it and she was right. No onion smell at all in the house. So maybe that's a clue that it IS working. So I've got it sitting in the main area of the house, which is the living room/dining room/kitchen combined. Probably about 600 sq. ft. My plans are to have several of them throughout the house, maybe like one in each bedroom and so forth. I have since found out, through searching, that the same model can be found on auction sites and other 'for sale' sites in various conditions such as 'used', 'refurbed', 'open box', etc.........and many can be found for half the price or less, which considering, is a GREAT deal. So with that I've ordered 2 more and can't wait to get them all in and going. Recapping; I think it's a great looking unit. I looked at another unit that was similar in size but watching the video it really looked cheap whereas this one does not. I like the fact that it has an ionizer and I can opt to turn it off if I want to. I like the other options of a timer and the sleep mode if I need it. And it does have an 'auto' mode that works off of a sensor to automatically change fan speeds as it sees fit by testing the air. About the only knocks I could give it are the status display is a little much, especially at night time. However, if you turn it off and the unit is on low speed then you really can't even tell that it's on and working. That happened to us, I turned the display off and wifey wanted to know why I had shut the machine off. So.........It'd be nice if the company offered a simple green light to let you know it's on if you didn't want to see the status. The other knock would be that a lot of other machines out there have a washable pre-filter whereas this one does not. Is it a big deal? Can't really tell for now. I'll update this several months down the line when it's time to change filters. ... show more

I bought this on sale via Amazon. I have a lot of allergies, and I have this in my bedroom. I really like it! It was easy to set up (remember to take the plastic off the filters inside), and you just turn it on. I like the remote and the fact that I can put it on sleep mode. It’ll continue to run and do its job but I can turn off all the bright lights on it to sleep. Win in my book! Only thing I wish now is that I had bought extra filters, and that I had a bigger one but I’ll do that when I’m ready and it’s needed. ... show more

    • Where did the dust go? This is my second HE1500 within 3 weeks.

This is amazing, I gave the first one a try out. What a difference. The furniture in the master bedroom would get dusty from the AC I'm guessing. My amour, which is close to a duct, would turn whiteish with dust on top in 1 week of dusting. Couldn't believe the dust in the carpet. So far so good. Will be vacuuming the carpet again to see what it looks like. This has been a problem since the house was new 1999. There are 3 returns in the ceilings with filters. They are changed every 2 months. They are not caked up. I've been trying for ever to find the problem. So, I have 2800 SQFT on the ground floor. Hoping with the second one I'm covered for 3000 SQFT. ... show more

    • Surpassed my initial expectations by a lot, but concerns over warranty stipulations

Edit: I posted my concern regarding the warranty, and the seller (Hathaspace) responded that the extended warranty went into effect with my purchase. Relieved and pleased about that, though I feel the seller could have made that more clear on their web site. Still very pleased with this product’s performance. To be completely honest, this unit was my second choice. My wife and I have been experiencing some respiratory issues, and we suspected the large amount of dust we've noticed in our home had something to do with it. After seeing how effective a much higher-priced brand worked at my daughter's home (they have two cats and an toddler, so "litterboxes" for felines and humans are present), we decided that we also needed an air purifier in our home. I wasn't willing to pay THAT much, though, so 'settled' for this Hathaspace 2.0 unit. I guess 'settled' is a bit tongue-in-cheek now, though, because I've been THOROUGHLY impressed by this device. Unboxing and preparing the unit for use was beyond easy. The control panel is big, bright, and VERY easy to understand and use. Even at it's highest speed, the device is VERY quiet. On first use, the device took about a minute to gauge the air quality around it. During this time, the LED strip on the front was blue. Because I'd set the device on the 'auto' mode, it set itself at the HIGH setting and ran at that speed for approximately an hour. After that, though, we noticed the light strip changed to green, and the fan speed began to reduce itself. It's quite sensitive to changes in the air quality; we initially set it up about 15 feet from our front door, and we noted that each time the door was opened the AQI meter would go down and the unit began revving up, only reducing the fan speed once the AQI meter had gone up sufficiently. It's fantastic at removing odors as well; my wife is Filipina, and cooks some amazing food, but also uses some ingredients that - while very delicious - emit some atrocious odors not found in a typical American kitchen. Fish sauce, for example, is made from fermented salted anchovies. It's a delicious, flavorful condiment, but it smells to high heaven. Under normal circumstances, the lingering odor of cooking with this condiment is evident for several days afterwards, but with this air purifier in place, the lingering odor was barely noticeable after a couple of hours, and simply not present the next day. While I never complained about the lingering odor, that fact that this device could remove it so effectively was pretty huge (but PLEASE don't tell my wife!!). My only concern is with the warranty. The documentation that came with it showed a QR code that (it claimed) would direct me to a site where I could register my device and receive an extended 5-year warranty. Yet, when I arrived on that URL, I wasn't given an opportunity to register my purchase. Instead, I saw a notice that the manufactured would ONLY warrant the device if it was purchased from THEIR web site, and there was no way for me to register it. I was concerned that purchasing it on Amazon would disqualify me from any kind of warranty, even though the listed seller was Hathaspace. So, as of this writing, I have to assume that my air purifier is not registered, and unwarranted. This is literally the first appliance purchase I've made from Amazon where the manufacture has prevented me from registering my purchase for even the minimal warranty. This is a pretty big concern for me; I spent close to $300 USD for this device, and I'm not very happy I'm unable to register for warranty service. Hell, I can register my toaster; why can't I register my air purifier? That alone prevented me from rating this device at 5 stars. Its not a good customer experience when the manufactures tells you they won't guarantee their product unless you purchased it directly from their web site. ... show more

I saw a review of the top air purifiers and there was Hathaspace in the top five. I have four of these. I bought the first one when it was on sale a couple years ago, because I hate dusting and I thought it was worth a try. I now own four because they really work! I rarely have to dust anymore, and that really makes me happy. The air smells so fresh and all the dust is inside the unit on the filters instead of on my shelves and furniture. They recommend replacing the filters every 4 months or so, but to get longer life out of them, because the filters are expensive, I vacuum them every few weeks. They seem to do the job just as well. As long as I have no dust and clean smelling air, I'm happy. ... show more
