Very nice leather, looks great, high quality, just wish it would have worked for me! Yes, I carry way too many plastic cards, yet, after thinning out what I felt I would be frustrated when needed but missing, there's still a bunch. So, I had my old wallet for many years...like so many I have no idea when I bought it. I got a wallet when visiting cousins in Gatineau Quebec, from Roots. Very nice quality and plenty of card slots. Problem is that it was so thick, I couldn't hardly close it. So, returned it via mail and ate the $10.50 US Postage...they're in Canada eh? On to the search for the right wallet for me. Tumi...well known brand for quality and craftsmanship. When I got the wallet, I was certainly impressed with the look and feel of the leather. Very soft, yet not flimsy...fairly thick, but not as thick as the one I got at Roots. Loved it!!! Only trouble is, I couldn't get it out of my suit pants pockets. Jeans...manageable but not easy. Suit pants...forget it. Prepare for embarrassment as you wrestle with your pants pocket trying to get the perfect alignment to wiggle it back and forth to finally get it out of your pocket! Just too wide. Perhaps the Brits have bigger pockets to accommodate wider wallets that hold Euro bills. If you have really wide pockets, you'll like this wallet if you can live with it being a bit thick. Further research...ordered replacement from Amazon...the Bosca Old Leather Continental I.D. Wallet, Black. Leather not as nice looking or feeling, however, much thinner wallet, 11 card slots with flip out I.D. holder. I will say, while not as aesthetically pleasing as the Tumi...it's a breeze to get out of my pockets and no where near as thick. Go for the Bosca if you just have to carry way too much stuff in your wallet, and there's no way in heck you're going to wear a fanny pack! ... show more

It really is hard to find a decent sized wallet. I don't keep my life in my wallet, but I do need room for things to fit in one place, at least until it is socially acceptable for a grown man to wear a fanny pack again. Those mini messenger bags would be nice, but those bags look awful on a fella in the the States. Maybe the are more acceptable in Europe. The best I could hope for in the past was a wallet that had good leather that could stretch. My last wallet was from Coach, purchased at a proper Coach store. Great leather, but the lining (something resembling clingy vinyl) started to deteriorate (from crisp bills?). Anyway, the dimensions on this Tumi wallet were roomer and another reviewer said it was too big for his pants. Both, good signs. I just transplanted the contents from the old Coach wallet to this Tumi and I am very happy. Ironically, the larger wallet lays flatter, and there's less of a bulge in the pocket. Stuff a smaller wallet enough, and it feels like a baseball in your pocket. A thank you, too, to the seller. The presentation of the wallet in the box was perfect. All the parchment and protective paper in the individual pockets were there. A couple Tumi cards were slipped inside the wallet. It was as if I was the first person to touch the wallet since it came out of the factory. This wallet would make a great gift for a guy who likes a roomy wallet who doesn't wear tight pants. There's an old-school look to it, too. I haven't had a pure-black wallet in ages, and it would have been nice to have this in a grey or a dark blue, but the black is growing on me. ... show more

I can relate to a few of the other reviewers on black sticky substance that rubs off on cards. The wallet seems fine on arrival but after a month or two it’s like the glue starts to come off or the leather starts to melt. Not sure, but even my chip won’t read in checkout registers because of the black gunk that’s on my cards. Worst part of it, I called TUMI to try to get a replacement and they basically told me I woulda have to ship it in to get it repaired which could take 4-6 weeks. So what am I supposed to do until then? Not have a wallet? Thanks TUMI. I would not recommend this wallet unless you want to have a hassle of sticky cards that don’t work anymore and sticky wallet sleeves. Junk. ... show more

    • Garbage excuse for a wallet

Do you want to walk around with a wadded up maxi-pad in your pocket? Then this is your wallet. Despite all the pockets, it doesn't hold very much because if you put anything in them, it doesn't close. It's stiff, ugly, and the leather is of extremely poor quality. At the price that's being asked, I'd expect it to be halfway decent at what a wallet is supposed to do: Hold things. But it can't. If this was thirty dollars, I'd give it three stars, at 150, it should come with a cancer warning. ... show more

Tumi products were first recommended to me by a friend of mine who as a shoemaker and leather repair guy for the high end stores knows his leather. It is without a doubt the best leather wallet I have ever purchased. Great leather - no defects, stitching is impeccable and it provides RFID protection. I bought this as a gift for my husband to replace his very beat up wallet. It’s very sturdy, has a lot of card storage and he had no problem sliding any of his cards in. The cards don’t get stuck when trying to get a card out. It is a tad thicker than his old Fossil wallet, but this does offer a lot more card pockets. He was carrying his Fossil wallet in his front pocket but has been carrying this one in his back pocket. He’s been using it for a month and no complaints so far. ... show more
