  • Very compact and fairly easy to use.
I have a house that is all open beam ceiling, and I recently needed to install a new ceiling fan. My 6 foot wooden ladder leaves me shaking - so I decided to upgrade to a better ladder. I really wanted a telescoping ladder, so I order this. First, some assembly is required and the included instructions are (1) very small to read and (2) very very cryptic. In fact, the instructions stated that the accessory tray came preinstalled, when in fact it was not preinstalled. So... after spending about an hour or so pouring over the manual and examining the unit. I was able to get it put together (one note - even though mentioned in the manual, which I missed - to install the stabilization bar you must FIRST remote the aluminum spacers that are in the slots. This is not apparent at all - though the bar won't install until you take the spacers out. Once put together, extending it the first time was pretty funny. The thing WANTS to extend... so it takes a bit of going side to side to get it to extend without falling over. Not hard, but will take a bit of use to get it fluid. Once extended, it was a good 8 foot A-frame ladder (or can be a 16 foot straight ladder, though I didn't try that).. EXTREMELY STURDY though the accessory tray can't take too heavy of a load (I doubt very much it could take a full gallon bucket of paint, even though it is designed for that). The best part is that I had no fear climbing up to the top, even hauling a big ceiling fan as I did it. Collapsing the unit is even faster than extending it. Once again, once you click the levers in each section, it just wants to collapse. As with extending it, I found it useful to alternate sides so it didn't fall over as I was collapsing it.. It comes with attached straps to secure it once collapsed - which you MUST use or it will start to unfold as you move it from area to area. A bit heavy - but that is what give it the sturdiness in good construction. ... show more

  • Almost perfect
I’m not a body builder, so the weight of this ladder is a bit too much for me. It is not the easiest ladder to extend and collapse, and that’s probably due to the weight. I am a bit concerned about its stability, especially when it is fully extended as an A-frame ladder and I’m up at the top. But for convenience and portability, I don’t think there is anything better. ... show more

I use this ladder daily. It fits in my Chevy Bolt and just works.

  • You can ONLY use this ladder (safely) at full length
This reviewer (https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R2EHR5AMECJWFC/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B09W4LM2T3) was correct--although this ladder is advertised as being adjustable in length ("Multi-Purpose A-Frame Ladder, Adjustable from 3ft to 16.5ft."), there is NO SAFE WAY to climb this ladder unless every rung is fully extended and locked. As long as ANY rungs are still collapsed, they can freely extend outward whenever the center of gravity of the climber moves close to the fulcrum. What this means in practice is that if you climb the partially-extended ladder and then lean forward just a bit (not an unusual or unsafe amount, just a slight forward lean) the ladder will simply tilt forward and eventually fall over forward, with you on it. It's absurdly unsafe, and I cannot find any way to prevent this from happening. It doesn't matter if you partially extend it by deploying/locking the top rungs (and leave the lower rungs collapsed) or vice versa. In either case, the ladder will begin to tip over and collapse if the center of gravity moves even a bit forward, as whichever rungs were NOT fully deployed slide open. They can lock open, but cannot lock closed, so if it has any slack to give, it's going to start stretching out from under you. I'm sure it's a fine ladder when fully extended, but I'll never know because that's not what I bought it for, or what the promotional materials claimed. Also, an aside, the manual is very poorly written, and gives almost no guidance on the proper use of this thing. For a safety-critical appliance like a long ladder, an unreadable manual is just irresponsible. The manual doesn't even ATTEMPT to explain how to use the ladder at partial length, and I rather suspect the people who designed this ladder never intended it to be used that way. I think someone from marketing added that claim to improve sales, and I just hope no one gets hurt because of it. If anyone knows how to SAFELY use this ladder at partial height, please let me know. Perhaps there's something I've missed. The manual says nothing about it and the review videos either ONLY show it being used at full length (and the Q/A section has explicit, false claims that you can use the ladder partially retracted). It's very strange to me that this product has such great reviews, given such a dramatic shortcoming. Again, maybe I'm missing something. ... show more

  • Honestly not Great
I recently purchased a telescoping ladder and was very disappointed with my experience. While it was marketed as being easy to use and convenient for storage, I found that it was actually quite cumbersome and difficult to maneuver. The locking mechanisms were finicky and I had trouble getting it to stay in place at the desired height. Additionally, the ladder felt quite flimsy and unstable, which made me nervous about using it for anything other than very basic tasks. Overall, I would not recommend this ladder to anyone who is looking for a reliable and sturdy option for their home or workplace. ... show more

  • It is ok if you have no other option
This ladder is great because it fits in the truck on my car. I am not stuck without a ladder if I don't have my work van with me. The bad news is it is not the most stable ladder. When if the A frame position it isn't too bad. You can't move it around easily because it will extend when you try to move it. You have to collapse it down and put the strap on when you need to relocate to a different spot. Not horrible but can be inconvenient. The biggest problem is when it is in extension mode. It isn't sturdy enough and starts to bend if you have it extended out. It is far too risky to use this way. ... show more
