  • This auger made quick work of setting out tomato starts this spring
In the past I planted my tomato starts by burying the stem horizontally. This year I wanted to try planting deep as I have been told to do so will provide the plants with more drought resistance. This auger made quick work of digging twelve to eighteen inch deep holes to plant the tomato starts deep. The results were very noticeable. I found I can water the plants less often by planting deep. One caution; a 3/8 inch drill does not have the capacity to auger more than one or two holes before overheating. Get a heavy duty 1/2 inch drill for any more than a handful of holes. I planted well over 100 tomato starts this season with no issues. ... show more

  • Time saver!
Size: 1.6"x9" Color: Black
This is exactly what I needed! It's a lost faster than digging holes manually and works very well.

  • Time saver
The augers save time planting flowers and bulbs. I previously used a bulb digger, not any longer

  • A Real Back Saver
Size: 1.6"x9"+3"x7" Color: Black
I used the larger auger to plant my marigolds this year. It's so easy to "drill" the holes and drop in the plant. It was much easier on my back since it's a real time saver.

  • Great for deep tilling our garden boxes
Size: 1.6"x9"+4"x12" Color: Black
I used it in my biggish DeWalt battery drill, really went to work on the boxes. It also made great planting holes for nursery plants out in the yard. The shaft definitely expects a chuck. It’s not sharply hexagonal enough for use in a socket, or I would have tried it with an impact driver for more comfort when it catches a root or rock. Overall I love it. ... show more

  • Love the Smaller Bit, the Larger One Not For Hard Soil
This was our first time purchasing this type of thing. Unfortunately, this did not turn out to work or be what we thought it would be & expected. I fully expected to be able to use the wider drill bit (green) to drill larger holes for allium bulbs. We live in the desert southwest where the ground is hard, everyone in this state jokes how the "soil" it's like concrete. I didn't really expect it to do ALL the work, but I sorta thought it would do more than it did. The smaller drill bit, the black one, is great!! We used the heck out of it & it really helped us quickly & easily plant over 100 bulbs (tulips, spanish bluebells, etc.) this fall. So the smaller, black drill bit alone was worth the money. I think the shape of it is what really made it more useful than the wider green one. We even used the smaller one to help make the big holes for the alliums, but we also employed a shovel, trowel, screwdriver lol, soaked the ground, etc. If you live somewhere with better soil, where you actually get rain every now & then, or are working in a bed that's been used & amended a lot over the years, then I imagine the wider drill might work really well for you. It's not that it's bad, useless, or doesn't do the job at all, it's just that I need something more. Honestly, something more along the lines of a concrete jack hammer! So for me & my crappy soil the smaller, black drill is great, but it's a good set, I'm glad I have both and would recommend them. My review on the wider one probably isn't fair because of the concrete soil situation, but if you too suffer with concrete soil, you may want to pass & try something more serious & more substantial. ... show more

  • Saved me
I have arthritis and it has been too difficult for me to dig planting holes. This gizmo makes quick, painless work of the digging now. It isn’t useful for large holes so I’ve adjusted to only planting small plants. This is excellent.

  • A game changer.
Size: 1.6"x9" Color: Black
Put this on my cordless drill and planting bulbs are a cinch. And reversing the drill brings the bit right out of the ground.
