This is a fantastic travelling BT speaker. Not just general portability, but durability and ease of carrying and use during travel are attractive features of this unit. I spent $109 on it, and feel the speaker delivers value at that price. Max volume for this speaker is quite loud, especially indoors. Having the option to enhance, or trim, the bass with a button press is convenient for changing environments. I wasn't too sure how it good it looked when seeing the images online. But having it in person I think it looks quite alright. Better looking than the original Motion Boom. It seems they've separated this into its own series, so from now on all of soundcore's "Boom" series speakers will be different from their "Motion" series speakers. The "subwoofer" is technically more of just a regular woofer as it also deals with midrange, as the stereo speakers are tweeters and therefore only produce treble. That being said, the bass is deep. Deceptively deep for the unit's size. Although the bass seems a bit weak in the lowest volumes, it really picks up as you approach the halfway point, and remains reasonably strong up to full volume. The rest of the sound seems well balanced and clear. Some of the best default tuning i've heard from Soundcore. The lights look good, they are fairly bright, but have adjustable brightness. Build quality is great. Solid and hard plastic all around with a sturdy metal grill. ... show more

Great sound, great shape, easy to cary. Waterproof yes, but not completely. Floating yes, but shouldn't keep it in the water floating. After about 2 mins I noticed one of the speakers side sank a little. Picked up the speaker and shook it and I could hear water trapped inside. After some shaking I got all of the water out. A little electric burn smell, but the speaker survived and it's still running great. So, to sum it up, a great speaker to have it near the pool, not being afraid of getting it wet or even drop in the pool, but get it out of the water back on a dry surface. I cannot understand how something this size can possibly produce such amazing loud clear sound and bass. It is a truly incredible device that I intend to use daily because it works well outside too. Do not be deceived by the affordable price, it is significantly better than a $400 JBL. The battery life is great too. If I want it loud, half volume is all you need. If I want to blast my neighbors, 80% I haven’t needed to push it further. The bass up function is awesome. You’re gonna love this thing. TL;DR: This speaker offers excellent sound quality and innovative features, including a highly customizable 9-band equalizer and versatile lighting options, although it lacks a steady light mode. This speaker sounds excellent. I often rotate my speakers at work, which my coworkers think is odd, but I'm having fun, so their opinions don't bother me. Now, let's discuss the pros: The weight is fantastic. The weight-to-output ratio is probably the best I've seen. I've always associated the weight of a speaker with its quality—for example, big heavy magnets, robust enclosures, and superior components. However, this speaker has completely challenged that notion. I assume they're using neodymium magnets because the woofer would have added several more pounds had they used traditional materials. The sound quality is impressive. The 9-band equalizer is particularly enjoyable to use. They've gone one step further than the competition. It's not just a 9-band equalizer; it allows total customization of each band. For instance, you can adjust the 1 kHz band up to 1,257 kHz, or take the 60 Hz band down to 48 Hz. This equalizer is very intricate. The best part? You can share the equalizers you customize with friends or strangers online through a link that automatically opens the app and applies the new EQ settings under the name you choose. Even more fun, you can create a QR code with your equalizer settings on it, allowing you to share it in the real world ... show more

What can I say. This speaker is amazing. For the size of the speaker, the Boom 2 puts out astounding bass. I found it best to use the App and adjust the EQ to my liking, which was very easy. It has very good clarity as well. The volume is gets very loud and is suitable for outdoor parties. I never need to max out the volume. The lighting that emits from the side passive radiators is cool as well, but you can turn them off if you don't like it or you want to save a bit of battery life. Speaking of the battery, I found that I could play the speaker at higher volumes over 10 hrs. The speaker also has a nice rugged build quality.
