I bought this because I've been spending longer stints in the outdoors recently, and it's been a trooper. One time I had depleted the battery, so I put in in the yard behind where I work. I forgot it, of course, and this little trooper stayed outside for the whole weekend. It sat in the grass in 90-100 degree weather for two straight days under extreme temperature fluctuations, daily sprinklers, and whatever else may have been thrown at it while I wasn't there. The only consiquence of being soaked, nearly set on fire, and generally neglected was that the battery had charged to above 75%. One thing I have noticed is that, under direct light on a hot day, the battery will overheat and stop accepting a charge. After the battery has been sufficiently cooled, it starts accepting a charge again. Pretty good safety feature. I can't imagine this is good for it in the long term, but I haven't noticed any issues yet. After being charged to full by the sun, I got about 8 full charges on my galaxy note before it was depelted. Overall, this thing is damn impressive. ... show more

Pretty good solar power bank. It folds up into a compact package and hold a charge well. It does take quite a while to charge, but that's the nature of small solar panels. My only complaint is that it needs a second loop so it can hang squarely. The light is a nice feature, but don't count on it as your primary light source. ... show more

Bought this for my husband and he absolutely loves it. It charges your phone fast, about more than 50% after 30 minutes. The charger itself seems to last awhile before having to charge it again. It works charging your phone using the solar panels. It is a bit bulky and has some slight heft to it. But folds up nice and compact. Can fit in a pair of men's pants pockets. Unlike most solar panels where they need to be plugged into a solar bank to use or charge your phone directly this charges an internal battery while you use your phones battery. This allows you to charge your phone once it’s close to dead!

Charger's compact size is convenient for travel although it's a bit heavier than similar products. Unfortunately, charging with the solar panels takes forever even on bright sunny days! I left it charging my phone on top of my car's dashboard on a bright sunny day for over 5 hours and it barely made any difference!!! I was really excited to use this product. I ordered it at the end of April and laid it in the sun for days to charge it. Of course I could have used an outlet at the time but I wanted to make sure it worked via the solar panels. I checked on it periodically until it reached full charge as shown by the blue lights on the side (and the green light means it’s charging). Once fully charged I plugged in my phone and my Fitbit to see how well they would charge. They did charge at first, but slower than other power banks I’ve used in the past, and the Fitbit even says it’s a weak power source. But it did it’s job and I was pleased to have this for my months long backpacking trip. A few weeks later I plugged my electronics in again and it was a bit spotty… it would say it was charging but then I’d check my phone a few minutes later and it had stopped charging. I double checked that everything was plugged in correctly, I even changed cables to see if that was the problem. It should be able to charge items more than once per its own charge, but I laid it in the sun again for a few days and tried again. Things charged. I left for my trip over a week ago. The first night i was in an Airbnb so everything was charged there. 2nd night at a primitive campsite I charged up some items as well as kept the power bank charging in the sun. Next campsite I needed to charge again… and it wouldn’t. Plugging things in and unplugging them several times, sometimes it would ding and say charging but then it would stop 30 seconds later. Again, I had it open in the sun. It’s hard to tell in the photos but it shows the green solar charging light on and all the blue lights… it should have worked!! I also included a photo showing my Fitbit plugged in and yet not charging. I needed to get in contact with my family and my phone was down to 3% and my Fitbit to 5% the following day. Luckily I was at a canoe livery where they graciously charged my phone in their office while I went kayaking. But soon into this trip I’ll be at mostly primitive campsites and towns will be few and far between. This charger was supposed to give me peace of mind that I’d always be able to charge up my phone no matter where I was. That is not the case. It’s too late to return, so I had to eat that cost and purchase an Anker power bank instead. Even though it isn’t solar hopefully it will provide power during the stretches between places I can charge it traditionally. ... show more
