The media could not be loaded. So as you’ll see in the video, the chamber draws up the water from under the basket to make the ice. (you pour the water in, underneath the basket- takes about 7 cups to the Max line and I fill my clean coffee pot with water to pour the water in, then put the basket back in). Anyways, the water comes up & through the chamber and pours through into the ice making process part, to make the ice cubes, but, in doing so, it leaves tiny little puddles in the chamber. So, after the 9 ice cubes are made, the 9 ice cubes drop down into that same chamber (with the tiny little puddles of water), then, the automatic tray scooper-upper comes along, scoops up the 9 ice cubes (along with those tiny little puddles) and then drops the 9 ice cubes over into the basket. So, now you get 9 wet ice cubes, and, now the basket has water droplets all over it. Repeat with every 9 ice cubes until the basket is full. Overall I’m going to just keep it, because I don’t feel like cleaning it, repacking it and returning it, and, I don't even know if this is returnable or not. Ugh, I’m wishing I had gone with what my folks have (igl**) they always have great ice (not wet), but it was much more expensive than this one. so even these large cubes are on the small side, they're also hollow so will melt quickly, once the ice is done making the unit turns off and ice melts.

    • Makes ice as said, however it does melt quickly.
If trying to make ice to store it will stick together because its so wet. When collecting for storing I would suggest dumping each time it puts out a lad of cubes which is time consuming to watch it. It is pretty quiet. Works well but will not produce enough for several people at a time if that is what you are needing. ... show more
