I love the new and improved plastic components included. I have assembled several Rolife miniatures and found this one took about a third of the time to complete. I appreciate the notching on the wooden pieces for ease of assembly, but the notches leave the edges looking unfinished. I made some minor changes to the finished piece. As seen in the enclosed photo, I made the “kitchen towel” out of leftover cloth from the table cloth. I also moved the basket to the wall by the door and made some “mail” to fill it. I changed the candle assembly to a tapered candle in a hurricane glass as the white bead was missing from my kit. I moved the plant from the floor to the counter by the cutting board as the suggested placement was unsuitable. The “back” of the cabinets are unfinished and open or I would give this five stars. ... show more

I'm used to the instructions that come with these kits so I can go with the flow. This was just lovely. I successfully lit it so you could see all the dear things about the room. I had fun.

Pieces fit nicely. I've assembled a few of these and it went together very smoothly. Two minor complaints: the instructions were mostly just illustrations, but the pictures were in color and quite dark so it was difficult to see details (glad I have my magnifying glass!) And the power box was impossible to mount in the bottom of the piece and the wires were so tiny they pretty much disintegrated if I tried to force anything.... I finally purchased my own wire connectors and mounted the box on the back of the piece instead of underneath. Be prepared to adapt with any of these kits.... ... show more

I’m loving it until I get to the electrical my boyfriend helped with that part it worked when he finished I went to hang it up like the diagram said but it wouldn’t work after that not sure if something got pulled loose or if it’s just fragile. I plan on buying some string lights from Walmart to go around the border so no biggie. The chair leg was snapped 😢 it’s not able to be put back together with glue and there aren’t extra wooden parts but there are extra paper pieces. I’m hoping I can find a chair somewhere else. Overall I’m enjoying assembling everything. Super easy instructions and very organized and so so adorable. ... show more

I have spent about 6 hours on this DIY Miniature house kit and about halfway done. I still have lighting and accessories to assemble. I will say simply that this kit is very easy to do. Why? Rolife has updated their kits. Now they have this “notch system”. Parts of a structure have notches that you simply put together like a puzzle. But unlike those book nook puzzle kits, this is much more sturdy and the notches actually fit! There is still some gluing, but at least I’m not spending time holding it together waiting for it to dry. The other upgrade is: less paper cutting. Now it’s punch-outs- definitely saves time. The structure is also taller. I assembled their “Flowery Sweets and Teas” structure 2 years ago, and in comparison, this structure is far easier to assemble. The only negative I can think of so far is the glue. They have not changed the glue. It dries too quickly. They included a thin nozzle attachment, but it’s too hard to place on the glue bottle. I am using Aleene’s Turbo Tacky glue, and it’s much easier to use. The other hiccup is the handle for the faucet. It was very hard to assemble. My next step is the lighting. I will give updates as I go along. In conclusion: So far, the instructions have been easy to understand. It’s a very relaxing project. I don’t even have to think. Everything is in the kit except for small wire cutter, Exacto knife, and pliers. It’s rated as 14+ which I agree. I have been enjoying assembling it so far. Addendum: 7/24/23– I have completed the accessories and now will move on to the lighting. I am not going to glue the furniture until I get the lighting done. The accessories were super easy to assemble. I forgot to mention another upgrade and that is NO more painting the furniture! Everything is already painted in the kit. More updates to follow. Addendum: 8/1/23–I have completed the miniature house, and it looks fantastic! It really does have a homey feel to it when I turn on the light. The lighting of the structure was not difficult. The directions were easy to follow. If the light bulb doesn’t light up, switch connections on the bulb. I added white electrical tape above silver light fixture to make it more stable. I also used a volt meter to check for voltage on the light bulb. To turn on the battery box, the sink is lifted up, because the battery box is underneath it. It was fun to assemble it, because the new upgrades made it easier. I am looking forward to assembling the next in the series! ... show more

This little kit is adorable and I had so much fun putting it together. I am a sucker for little cafe/coffee shop scenes and this one is no exception. I love that it doesn't take up a ton of room when completed.

This diy mini kitchen took some time to complete. The most time consuming was the electrical wiring. The materials are of decent quality. The instructions were pretty straightforward for the most part. Everything is labeled and comes very well organized for a smooth assembly. The glue scent does linger so ventilation was needed. This miniature house kit is not only adorable, but so incredibly detailed! It is very time consuming to put together, as there is a lot of itty bitty pieces that you have to cut-out, assemble, and then arrange (which for me, it the fun part!). Even though the description says this kit is for kids, it is NOT something a child can do, at least not without a lot of adult help. A teenager would be able to put this kit together with no issues, though. The overall quality of the kit is very high-quality, and the instruction are easy to follow, and clearly written. Overall, I'd recommend for a teenager or adult who enjoys miniature things! ... show more
