The description says the heat is adjustable but there is no thermostat. You need to clearly state this. I purchased a different unit from Menards at a lower price and it, although smaller, has a thermostat which cycles the heater maintaining constant temperature. You need to let customers know what they are getting as near as exact as possible. Other than this, that I consider very important, the fireplace is fine. Adjustable should be controllable as well.... Thus the 3 star overall rating and I would not purchase again or recommend purchase of this unit. ... show more

I would recommend this product to anyone wanting the feeling of a real fireplace in any home whether an apartment or home. You can't go wrong, make sure you have the right place to hand it. I got this product to compliment my living room, not so much for the heat. I live in Florida, so I don’t need the heat too often, but I did use it once and it took quite a bit of time for me to feel any warmth from it. But that could be because of the way I set mine up. I saw reviews indicating it had to be mounted. I actually have mine sitting on its own. I propped the back slightly with a thick piece of plastic and it sits nice and flush. ... show more
