I ordered these chairs to replace the broken hyraulic lift stools I had before. I use these with my standing desk at work. My old stools were adjustable by hydraulic, which was great, until the hydraulics quit working. Once that happened, no matter what, I would always just sink down to the bottom low level of the stool, which was WAAYY too low for my standing desk! When I was looking for replacements, I knew adjustable was a must, but hydraulics was a no-go. I found these gorgeous chairs and ordered them. They arrived within 2 days! They were very easy to put together and the best part is they are fully adjustable with a very wide range of height, but will never "slip" or change unless I unlock the ring and physically spin it up or down. I have had these not quite 2 months now, and as I figured, the padded top was not the best quality (note in the picture how much flatter one seat is than the other). HOWEVER, I was expecting this, and I'm ready for it. Because of the design (which I paid attention to before I purchased) these are going to be very easy to recover the seat AND add matching cover and pad to the back of the chair. I plan on putting in some quality foam and covering them in a really nice upholstery. But even with that one expected short coming, the chairs are definitely a perfect match for what I was looking for! They are light, but feel sturdy and strong because they are all metal frame. I bought these for a room that hardly gets used. They both broke exactly 7 months later, almost to the exact date of purchase. My husband fell both times, and currently we are at the ER. The stool just suddenly makes a loud "popping" noise, and then down you go to the base (where if you make the chair higher or lower), then off he went onto the floor. Last week it happened then today about. hours ago. He fell, it his head on the wall/shelving unit and had blood everywhere. Waiting to see the outcome of these terrible chairs. The chairs snapped at the welds, and it feels like you can just snap the back rest. They are cool chairs, but the large screw in the back gets looser and looser and you dont know it gets lose until BAM! You're on the floor. They are not comfortable either. They are fine if you're going to sit for about 15-45 minutes but after that you're done. Unfortunately I wasted hard earned money on these, and cannot get my money back, instead they are going to cost me THOUSANDS. Shame on the maker of these. Prayers my husband won't be too hurt, I'm scared to death with all the blood. ... show more

Quality wise these are solid chairs especially for the price point. We had three other barstools that had cost quite a bit but we're looking to add more and couldn't find the exact stools again. We found some that were close but at almost $300 each were more than we wanted to spend. Found this pair for around $100 each stool sold as a set. They were easy to put together and I like how easy they are to adjust the height as our breakfast bar is at an unconventional height. These actually go a little taller than our last ones which work great for the kids. Only drawback is that they are great size for kids but I am 6'-3" and 275#'s and they are sturdy enough to hold me but not very comfortable. My kids think they are awesome and now they have enough stools for everyone to eat or work up there. Great quality for the price. ... show more

I have an extra-tall counter, and bar stools that are tall enough are next to impossible to find for less than $200 each. I bought these stools because the stools I currently have wobble on my high-pile carpet and I was hoping that these stools would work as they have four individual legs (which tend to be more sturdy on carpet). While these stools were adjustable to the right hight and the seats could be comfortable, they were wobbly and the wobble came from where the seat attaches to the legs. The seat is supported by one 1/2-3/4" screw, so at the taller heights, the seat becomes incredibly wobbly. These stools may not wobble as much at lower heights, but they sadly weren't workable for what I needed. ... show more

We purchased these less than a year ago. The appearance was exactly what we were going for, rustic industrial. Several people commented on how nice they were. However, they do not hold up well. The chair itself is quite small. If you are a tiny person with no meat on your bones then this chair would be perfect for you. If you are 150 and up pounds then this chair would be quite uncomfortable for your bottom side. In addition to that the weight limit for these chairs are incorrect. They truly hold a 200 pound or less person. Anything more than that will break the chair. We had all but 1 chair break and different weights broke each chair. We tried rewelding these chairs together and that worked for 1 of the 3 that broke. ... show more

Great-looking set and easy to assemble. The most difficult and time-consuming part of assembly is getting all the darn plastic wrap off the parts. Assembly itself is a breeze. The swivel action is really just for height adjustment; they lose stability if the height-locking nut is not tightened, and tightening that nut stops them from swiveling. Go easy on the back rest as it only attached by a couple tack welds, and my 175 pounds was enough to break a weld when I leaned back hard. ... show more
