This this was packed so well, I will be saving some of the packaging for future projects. It was heavy to move to begin with. I saw a video on university of youtube.com that showed how well constructed it is. The directions were actually good. This is important because I am not normally an instructions girl. It is built to last, very sturdy and well built. It does say you need a drill and a screwdriver. With your normal screwdriver philips head there was no place I could have used my drill. I was on the fence at first due to reading comments & seeing people post their shelf arriving damaged. Mine arrived yesterday & put it together this morning. Not as much of a dent thankfully. It's serving its purpose as of now & plan to purchase three more in the near future.

**update** A rep from the company contacted me after leaving the below review. Same person that helped me find the other two panels. I was instructed to punch holes in the bottom of the panels so they can fit to host and close properly. I did, using a hammer and screw driver… punch a while easily, but scared the crap out of my dog. I’m considering getting another one to keep things the same— but all the effort I had to put forth with this first one I’m not so sure. I LOVE how tall is it, LOVE the functionality, love the magnetic doors. I haven’t used the keys yet. I also LOVE the company rep reaching out to me to make things right. Changed the stars from 2 stars to 4, heavily due to the rep reaching out to me. ————— Long story short, pay the extra money to have someone else put the unit together. I genuinely love putting furniture together, even when the directions don't make sense, the pictures are usually easy to follow. When I tell you, as I am typing this, I am fuming! I will start with when I opened the very heavy box, and pulled each the items from the shipping box, everything arrived well. I then did an inventory of all the items, and found I was missing part C, and D. I reached out to amazon and they connected me to seller, who told me that the items were inside another, I looked and they were! I was happy. Not really a big deal, but some kinda of heads up that they packaged the items that way would have been great. That way I didnt have to waste my time, and my days, when i had the extra help wondering where the other two pieces were. After they were reached out to, they responded in less than 48 hours. and were very nice too. Next was the assembly. Negative 10 out of 10! 1. No words, just pictures 2. The screws for "N" are so incredibly tiny, but need a big screwdriver, Visibility for where the screws were to go was nearly impossible at times. 3. Direction #3 for J were not clear at first, bc via the picture the part looks like it was upside down. 4. My best friend had to put together #'s 4-12 bc my nerves were shot trying to manage, then left. 5. There are small little, um, lets say knobs, that go into this small little hole on the bottom of the cabinet, that you are suppose to grab the door, and slide the knob thingy into the hole, basically for the top and bottom of the doors so they open and close. Well, the door holes are too big to fit the knob thingy through. and the doors are too big for that area of the cabinet. So I cant use the doors properly. Also, the holes are also not wide enough for it to fit. 6. took the cabinet apart to figure if I put on the bottom on incorrectly just to find out, it was correctly put together, and the doors just simply dont fit. I am so angry right now. I dont know what to do as Ive wasted now two weeks, and $150.00+ on a heavy, i-will-have-to-pay-for-shipping-cost-to-return, storage cabinet that I cannot use correctly. Love the taller height of this cabinet. Keep some things up there that we rarely need. It is a bit flimsy (it's just sheet metal after all), but holds everthing we need in it. A few extra inches in depth would have been even better, but the fully adjustable shelves are a great feature. Performs the fuction we really wanted it for, which is keeping the gasoline smell out of the garage. Opted not to attached it to the wall though, so we put the heaviest items on the bottom for more stability. ... show more

    • Better than Expected
The shelves came dissembled in a corrugated cardboard box. Inside the box, the corners were protected by folded steel end caps. These worked really well to keep the shelves in good condition. Assembly was easier than expected. The pieces all cleverly interlocked and one piece was added to the previous one at a time until the whole unit was assembled (rather than assemble sub-units and then try to put those together). This worked really well. Be sure to allow enough room for the shelf unit to lay flat on its back so you can put in screws. I had to move it from flat on its back to standing vertically a couple times to get the screws in. All the pieces fit tightly and all the screw holes aligned properly. I was able to assemble the shelf unit entirely by myself. Instructions were accurate but consisted of only pictures. The shelf unit pieces all had stickers with letters on them that match the instructions, so it was easy to figure out the orientation of each part. It would have been nicer to have some English text stating things like, 'first do this, next do this, etc.,' but I was able to figure it all out without having undo anything. I expected the shelves to be relatively flimsy but the individual shelve have no trouble holding stacked of paper pads and art supplies. I have no concerns about the strength. The doors installed easily and are held closed by magnets. There is a lock in the one door but I dont need to use it since the doors stay closed. I bought the grey shelves. They were a bluish grey just like the photo. ... show more

I bought two of these and the first arrived great. They are very sturdy and perfect for my garage storage. The next day, the second one arrived and was missing 3 shelves. No help from Amazon support, so I had to order a third one and a higher price. We will see if that one arrives with all pieces.

Nice storage cabinet when assembled. Assembly isn't "hard" but some of the screws take some torque to get seated firmly. That is by design. Didn't have the space to use a cordless drill so it came down to sheer grunt on the handle of a screwdriver. I like that there are magnets to hold the doors closed with out the need to keep it locked. And the adjustable shelves are a nice bonus. Would recommend. ... show more
