    • Nice quality budget desk, with a few concerns.

For the most part, assembly was very easy. I liked how it included the Allen key, and I liked that it can be assembled in 2 configurations depending on your handedness. The only issue I ran into was with the cloth pocket on the side. I'm not sure if the holes in the cloth were misplaced, or the holes in the metal bar, but they did not line up (and no amount of forcing the screw could make it work either). I more or less made it work by putting the screw in the front hole, and jamming the Allen key in the back hole after I was done with it. So far, seems sturdy enough. My other concern is with the drawers. The wooden the faces look nice, but I hadn't realized the drawer itself was cloth. In my experience, the cardboard bottom of cloth drawers tends to degrade significantly over time, leading to the drawer caving in on itself. Only time will tell if that'll be the case here too. ... show more

I bought one for my 11-year-old as she needed space to complete her homework. It was simple to build, took about 20-30 minutes, and was light enough to carry and move by yourself. It is inexpensive, so you get what you pay for, meaning I wouldn't sit on it or place too many heavy things on it. It is perfect for a laptop, a light, and a few items to personalize it. I really like the distressed-wood look. It was easy to put together except for about 6 of the smallest screws, and very solid when we finished. ( I had a friend helping, which was useful since I have difficulty kneeling). Only one pre-drilled hole didn’t line up perfectly, where the hanging “magazine folder” gets screwed in, so it didn’t matter to me. I noticed the two drawer fronts have matching wood grain and a pale distressed spot appears on both. I plan to give one a quick swipe with some acrylic paint. The fabric drawers are surprisingly sturdy, since they have a rigid stabilizing piece in the bottom. This desk is tucked into a corner of my home office, and will be used for art and crafting, but it’s quite lovely to look even if it were In full view ... show more

It's not as sturdy as a wooden desk, but my 9 year old loves it. Big enough to put stuff on it and still do homework. The pouch on the side holds lots of things. The drawers again are not as sturdy as slide drawers, but they aren't packed, so it works for her. She loves it. I would buy again.
