I’ve used it a couple of times so far and I must say I am impressed with the job this little hand held cordless buffer does. Someone sideswiped me in the grocery store parking lot and we were able to buff the paint transfer out of my car with ease. I also get marks on my car from leaves from parking under trees. I’ve buffed those marks out of my car too. Works great on that. The only con is it does lose power in the estimated time. I bought this to wax my car at home. When I got the tool, it looked to be very sturdy. However, when I began to wax my car with it, I realized just how faulty this item was. After powering it on, I began to use it on setting 3 and, within 2 minutes, this thing stopped operating. I had to reset the speed setting again and again but it continued to stop after a short while. Sometimes, it would stop only after 30 seconds of use! In the end, I packed this thing back up and returned it for a full refund. I really like the design of this thing and wanted to keep it but its faulty operation was making it impossible to do so. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I tried to polish some clear coat fading on my car and didn't have much luck. i am new to polishing, so it's probable that wasn't doing things right, or was trying to correct too much fading, but I did not have any success. I was using rubbing compound and polish with the cloth attachment and the green foam pad attachment respectively. I will blame my lack of success on my inexperience, or the quality of the pads. As far as the tool is concerned, it is very ergonomic and light. it fits in the hand nicely and is easy to control which is very nice. It feels quality in this regard. I only have two real complaints. I wish the speed setting were isolated from the on/off setting. I think a trigger for on/off would have been better, especially for turning off quickly. Also, the lowest 2 settings do not have enough power to really be useable; any pressure will slow them down or stop the rotation completely. The higher settings have enough power to polish a car with some pressure, but I did have the motor stop on me a few times (due to too much torque applied or overheating, not sure), so just be aware of that. It was not too much of an issue though and I was putting quite a bit of pressure. Overall though, it works ok and If you already are in the 12V line it could be a nice addition if you are in need of a polisher. ... show more

This KIMO cordless polisher is just the right size for tight spaces and spot repairs when removing scratches and/or polishing areas on the finish of a car or truck. The variable speed is very helpful when buffing out scratches from paintless dent repair, paint touchup, or just scratches and scuffs in general. It’s important to start out slow when using a polishing compound as paint is easily removed at higher speeds. Learning the correct pressure is also important and even though this KIMO polisher is easily stopped at the lowest speed setting with too much pressure, it reminds you that lighter pressure is better to start with. When removing the dried polishing compound or wax, the higher speeds are great and there is plenty of power for high speed buffing. I would not use this tool to wax or buff an entire car but for the tight areas and corners or removing scratches in a specific area on the car this is perfect. This polisher is the perfect size between the small rotary tool buffing wheels and the larger 10” orbital buffers. It's also nice not to have to deal with a power cord draping over the vehicle body creating cord scuffs on the paint. This polisher also works well on tile to remove grime or stains. I used it on a compact disk that wouldn’t play due to deep scratching and now it works great. I’m sure there are many other uses for cleaning or buffing around the house. I like how easily changes are made between the various pads that come with the unit. Hook and loop fasteners make pad changes so quick and cleaning of the pads much faster. The life of the battery charge depends on the speed setting that is being used of course but I never thought it was unreasonably short. It is always best to have a fully charged backup battery available so your don’t have to stop and wait for a charge. It’s nice that other KIMO cordless tools use the same battery so if you have another KIMO 12V product the battery will most likely fit. Recharge time takes less than one hour. I do wish this unit had a battery charge indicator on the polisher like KIMO did with their cordless ratchet. I guess this is the only thing I would change. Initially I thought having a handle to the side or over the pad would be helpful but this is not a deal breaker since this tool is really lightweight and easy to maneuver. I didn’t notice any fatigue using it with just one hand. I’ve been very happy with my other KIMO tools and this polisher is another one I would recommend. ... show more

We have trees and between the sap and bird droppings it is often hard to get everything off the windshield, the wipers and washer fluid usually don't cut it. Sprayed some windex on the stubborn areas and then went over them with this and the stubborn stuff bufffed off and it also made the windex evaporate rather quickly for a clear windshield once again. Some of the reviews said its not great for paint work and I don't know because it was always my intention to use it as a glass cleaner and it works great for that purpose. ... show more

I love kimo products, they are good quality, lots of extras and really great value for the buck... so why I am giving 1 star? It is simple, no matter how good and great a product is... if there is no power it is useless. Trust me... the battery life lasts to polish one side of your car (if you are lucky) I have a cordless kimo screw driver and the battery lasts forever... now I see why this product has a $30 discount... there must be a problem with the battery or the unit itself... it is really painful watch the battery getting depleted within 5 to 10 mins of use. Such a shame something this cool is rendered useless thanks to its battery ... show more
