  • Easy setup, works great
We recently moved our TV above the fireplace and were unable to get cable there so we used the IOGEAR to get the signal from the corner to behind the TV. The devices are smaller than I thought but still big enough that they are hard to fit behind the TV against the wall. I was able to use a 90-degree HDMI extender to make it work. No problems getting it set up, worked out of the box. Works as advertised - can tell at times when the entire screen switches at the same time that some of the bits get left behind and there is some barely perceptible pixelation. For everyday practical use this not noticeable. We were able to reduce it further by ensuring the devices were out in the open and pointed at each other. I initially bought both this product and the SIIG CE-H23Q11-S1 Wireless HDMI Extender Kit 98Ft 30M Supporting 4K @30Hz HDCP 1.4 CEC 60GHz Frequency-Transmitter and Receiver to compare them only to realize that they are EXACTLY the same electronics - just in a different case for the same price. The IOGEAR won out because it came with HDMI cables and the form factor fit just a little better behind the TV. The SIIG is a smaller package, but I couldn’t get it to sit at the proper angle behind the TV due to it being smaller and thus the bad angle meant a weaker connection and more intermittent pixelation. The SIIG also didn’t pair out of the box and needed pairing. All in all for short range 4K wireless hdmi this works well and I’d recommend it for this application. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for.
I waited a while to write this review - I wanted to see if it kept working. I love them. This is the best set of remote video controllers I have ever owned. They connect faster than the others, the stay connected and hardly (if ever) drop (you have to walk in-between them slowly to make that happen) give a very high quality picture and I can whole-heartedly endorse this product. Best set I have owned in 10 years. All that said, my set is only about 10 feet apart with a clear line between them. But still, they work better than any others I have tried. ... show more

  • Works as advertised, very loud whine.
I am a fan of IOGEAR, I've used everything they made over the years, they generally make high-quality products that work as advertised and this device is no exception. The pros to this device: 1. The picture is crisp and clear 2. I have no discernable lag at all (I made sure they were in line of sight) 3. 4k quality that I was expecting is transferred over in high resolution. I'm using this for PS5 gaming and it works great. 4. Setup was fast and easy. I plugged things in and it worked. I stupidly/accidentally pushed the sync button while testing and the resync was very fast and simple. The cons: 1. When the device is transmitting there is a very high pitch whine that is very noticeable in a quiet room and still audible when gaming with the volume turned up. I've tested the devices on clean power, single outlets, multiple outlets, as the only plugged-in device, etc. At this point, I am mostly convinced that it is a design flaw of magnetostriction or bad capacitors but I don't really care to open the device to test which one is the cause. Bottom line if you're not in a quiet environment this will work great! If you're in a quiet environment, expect the whine. ... show more

  • Cannot perform 4k with consoles and has a weird bug that makes it unreliable
I’ve had and used this for about a week now, and will be returning it asap: It’s a waste of money to use with consoles, last gen or current. This device cannot get 4k on any generation of xbox that can handle 4k: tried both the series x and one x and this transmitter/receiver can’t do 4k on either one since the frame rate xbox locks to for 4k is too high for the transmitter/receiver. You cannot go higher than 1080p no matter what console you have. Before you ask, yes its a 4k tv and ive gotten that performance out of my consoles on it before, well within range of this device’s specs. I don’t know why this is marketed towards gamers or what device its even supposed to be able to transmit 4k from since it can’t do it on the current or last gen consoles, given that they’re locked at 60 fps which you’ll never get with the product’s 30hz limit. It also has a weird bug in it where the picture will randomly freeze for about 30 seconds, the transmitter/receiver turns off, and comes back on in another 30 seconds. 1 full minute minimum of blackout before returning to normal. Again, pretty terrible for modern moment-to-moment gaming or just watching tv in general. And given the price, these things are just inexcusable and make it a pretty worthless pair of $300 blocks that give you 1/4 of the resolution for 2-3x the price when they do work. To be fair, the frame rate it does offer is great. In short: cannot perform at 4k with anything I happen to own/use it for (although I cannot speak for other gaming devices), is really expensive compared to other transmitters/receivers that do that same thing, and has a bug that makes it basically useless. ... show more

  • Disappointing
The device works reasonably well for Bluray disks but I never could get it work for 4K disks (as advertised). I don't own many 4K disks, otherwise I would have sent it back. Each time I use it I have to power off and on the transmitter and receiver. It does not connect otherwise. This is a pain in the derriere and means you have to cycle it just to change disks. The support line was worthless. I waited while the agent at the other end looked up the product literature and then read it to me. I had already done this and the supplied literature is "cryptic" to say the least. Once it is working, the picture is fine but occasionally drops the audio. ... show more

  • Easy setup
As soon as you set it up it is very easy to use but the thing that I didn’t like on this device is the it needs to have direct sight of line from transmitter to receivers but other than that this product is very well build quality of materials are durable
