  • Difficult to bend corners
Overall, this is a good value for the money. The one difficulty I experienced is that due to the stiff nature of the scope making it hard to bend corners of drainage pipes.

  • Great image quality
I bought this Industrial Borescope to use during search warrants at work, and it's been a huge hit with the squad. We currently use an office-issued borescope that's archaic and clunky... and the image quality is so bad I feel like I'm looking at video from a Motorola flip phone. This blows our standard issue out of the water. I love how easy it is to use... some of my co-workers aren't super tech-savvy and they were able to figure it out within minutes (and use it effectively). Needless to say, it's been a game-changer for our squad. So much so that I put in a memo to replace all of the scopes in our unit with this one. Hopefully I can convince staff because it's a great tool and we need the upgrades. A few general perks: - Incredibly clear image quality: The HD Digital Endoscope Camera provides clear and detailed images, which makes it easy to spot hidden compartments or objects during searches. As I said before, everyone on the squad can agree on how much better the image quality is than the one we were issued. - It's durable: The IP67 waterproof rating is a huge plus, especially during 'messy' searches. I won't go into detail, but we need something that can hold up well in tough conditions, and it hasn't let us down. - Flexible Cable: The drain snake is long enough to get into nook and crannies. It has the right length and flexibility for navigating tight spaces, and it can reach areas that would be impossible to get to otherwise. The less 'damage' we have to do, the better. This is quick and easy. It's now our main tool: Since there are usually several people conducting searches, having an extra borescope has been incredibly helpful and speeds up our searches. Overall, it's made our search operations smoother and more efficient. It's a practical tool that pretty much anyone should have in their arsenal. I highly recommended it for anyone in a similar line of work, but it'd prove useful in a ton of other scenarios. Easy five stars. ... show more

  • Great Camera at a Great Price
At this price point this camera is an exceptional value. Does it have all of the features of a $300 inspection camera? No, but it's 1/10th of the cost. This does everything you need to be able to look down into tight spaces like drains, underneath auto parts, behind furniture, in walls, in ductwork, etc. The light on the scope is very bright and does a great job of illuminating what you're inspecting. The camera and screen give a bright and clear picture. The scope is long enough to get most places a home owner, hobbyist, or mechanic would want to get to. Everything is exceptionally easy to use. You probably won't even need the manual. If you find yourself with the camera in the wrong direction and everything upside down, you can rotate the picture with the push of a button. My prior scope that I bought for a similar price had to be connected to a cell phone and you would use the cellphone as your screen. This is MUCH, MUCH better than those type of instruments. Not only is the set up much easier (since there isn't any) you also don't have to handle your cellphone in a wet area, that's probably also a very dirty area, where you have to be getting dirty to manipulate the scope and then smearing all of that on to your cellphone to control the camera. In addition to keeping something that you put up to your head clean instead of smeared with sewage, this camera is much better designed to let you operate it while still holding it securely. The last thing you want is to drop a $1,200 phone into the water because you were trying to hold on to the phone and the scope while also using both hands to select things on your phone and pinch and zoom. Think of this a cheap insurance against destroying a phone using one of the phone based scope systems that are similarly priced. ... show more

  • Pretty cool device
I have to be honest. I didn't need this borescope at all. I didn't even know what is what devices like this were called But when I saw it, it seemed like it could come in handy. And it has already. First, the device itself seems to be build pretty well. Yes, it has a plastic housing, but it doesn't feel cheap or flimsy at all to me. The 16.5ft cable is semi-rigid which is helpful since most applications for this will call for a certain amount of rigidity to be able to get the camera into the location you need. The image quality is ok. Not great, not terrible, but more than good enough for most uses I would say. I have already used this to inspect air ducts in my house, as well as to look into some tight spots behind cabinets and even in my car's engine compartment. I do wish that there was a way to take snapshots with it though. Having some sort of memory card slot and ability to snap an image would make this even that more usable. That said, I still love it, and for the price, it is a steal. ... show more
