Honestly looks cheap and I was doubtful, but it’s like a cloud under my sheet. Not a massive upgrade but it is an upgrade. Just do it. I use a Calvin Klein cotton duvet cover over my protector with a 4” topper and a pillow mattress (yeah, I like soft), but even with all that cushion, I can still feel the “cheap” cover, it’s crazy. Can’t speak to the water resistance but I wouldn’t necessarily trust it either. But after trying a crinkly “non-crinkle” waterproof cover; I decided since I’m not actually pi**ing myself at night yet and my kid is grown, did I really need a waterproof cover? This is an awesome masters pad, I'm a hot sleeper but this is not hot, it's soft not super thick and it's not so soft that you sink hard in to it is like a fluffy yet firm cloud I love it
