    • Buyer Beware: Homedics doesn't care!
I am now officially and forever done with Homedics. This latest purchase has cemented my decision. After approximately two months of use (and of course, 30 days after the return window closed) the Homedics Shiatsu cushion started making loud grinding noises as the massage balls moved up and down inside the mesh cover. They had never done this before. Also, the cushion itself became warm to the touch after a few minutes of operation-- even though the heat feature was NOT turned on. The noise was loud--startlingly so. I became worried about using the cushion as I feared damaging my back or worse, starting a fire. I contacted Homedics customer service requesting a replacement or refund as the product was still under warranty. I was told that since I had purchased a "used" item delivered in a damaged box, the warranty had been voided. I explained that although the corner of the box was a bit pushed-in, the cushion inside was intact, brand-new, factory-wrapped in plastic and never opened. There was NO mention of a voided warranty or I would not have even purchased this. However, this exchange with Homedics went nowhere. I then contacted Amazon customer service which came through for me and arranged for a refund and free return. Homedics had no interest or support for their product as soon as they had my money, and they will not get any more of it-- ever. Please do not buy this item has issues with knocking while on so loud my mother in the basement could hear it, save your money and get a better quality massage chair 0/10 DO . NOT . BUY

I have purchased these for my husband for years. He's a retired firefighter with a badly injured back. The earlier models were fantastic, he loved them, gave him a ton of relief. This is the second time in 2 months I have returned a massager. After about a week of use, and not every day, they start to make growling noises and hang up at the bottom. I don't know what has changed but it would be great if they would stop trying to improve something that is already very good and actually works. ... show more
