This thing is quite good for the price. I typically use a hard foam roller to stretch out my middle back pain. I have had pain in the same area for over 20 years. Last week, I tried to move some wood loading ramps early in the morning and all of sudden felt like I could not even stand up. It almost felt like something broke in my back. This has acutally happened before in the past, but only a few times over 20 years. Usually it is just a muscle strain which is painful at first, then sore for a couple weeks to a couple months at most. I ordered this back massager the morning after this latest injury and it was delivered within a couple hours. The foam roller was just too painful and would not provide the little cracks and immediate relief it typically does. This massager provided such intense feelings of relief and got into deep tissue that I literally felt what you could describe as euphoria. The problem is it felt so good that I really leaned my weight onto the unit so much that the balls would barely move and I seem to have bruised my back around my spine quite a bit. Now I can only use this massager very lightly until the bruise heals up. The heating feature is not all that warm, but I did feel it. Being a long time sufferer of back pain, I try a little of everything. This massager should really help provide some immediate temporary relief. But to those suffering, I will relate that the absolute best help was strengthening my core by situps, pullups, pushups etc and the corresponding weight loss. I did not have any back pain for years when I could do sets of 10-15 pullups at a time, but I got lazy and now I am suffering again. I have a tens unit. It works great, but it is too hard to get the pads on my back by myself. I have the heating pads and the ice pads. I have the foam rollers with and without knubs. I have a bosu ball. I have the icy hot, the tiger balm, the biofreeze. I have a hot tub with all kinds of jets and 5 different seating positions. This massager is a very welcome addition. I bought an accupressure mat at the same time, about which I was very skeptical in comparison to a shiatsu heated massager. But I am using the accupressure mat in conjunction with the shiatsu massager and light stretching and got back to work after only a couple days with only annoying stiffness, discomfort and soreness instead of intolerable pain and immobility. ... show more

I have bought many massagers in the past, but this one has been ideal for my wife and I. It works wonderfully, I just come from work after working on the computer most of the day and sit on my recliner and turn on this Messager and fall asleep. My wife works all day around the house and also does a lot of reading on her tablet after so many hours doing so, she sits down on the recliner turns on the Messager and relaxed for the next few hours, not nonsense handling the use of this equipment and the best thing is that it shuts off after 15-minute message. Seemed like every time I would work in the yard, I'd end up needing a day of rest to get over the soreness and muscle cramping in my back and neck. With this back massager, I come in and let those aches and pains get worked out and 8 times out of 10, I don't get the back cramps or headache that often follow. Not as bad anyway. Loved this lower back massager at first when I purchased it. I used it about once daily for a couple of months and then it stopped working. The buttons seem to work, but the massager doesn't run. Motor likely burned out. I'd stay away, but again, you get what you pay for.

I love that it gets into the knots. It's very strong, and a very good massager. The only problem I have is that it goes really fast. It's not very relaxing. In the sense that you can just sit with it and deep breathe as you get a nice, relaxing massage. It's loud and moves very fast so it's more about breaking up the knots, then really taking it easy. It would be good if it had some option to slow it down. But it is a very good massager. ... show more
