We had trouble getting the blinds to snap into the brackets. The included screws have round heads which is fine for outside mount but on inside mount the rounded head obstructs the blind from snapping into place. We changed out the rounded screws for flat screws and blinds snapped into the brackets securely. The "light gray" is a robust medium gray at night without the sun's rays filtering through. The Grandekor zebra blinds are really beautiful up close. Both the solid and see through stripe is woven. This adds a luxurious appeal to the blinds as the light filters through. These would look good in a variety of decor from modern industrial to traditional. Looking at these from the outside, they are very attractive and give a good amount of privacy during the day. At night, it would depend on where the blinds were mounted. They give plenty of privacy for common areas like living rooms, kitchens, etc. If in a bedroom there is a gap about 1/4 inch on both sides when using inside mount. Depending upon the location of a bedroom the gap may or may not bother you. I was thinking we might run some trim molding down the sides of the window sill to give this a more finished look and help to seal off the gap from prying eyes as well as drafts. These are just plain fun to adjust during the day to let in just the right amount of filtered light while still looking fashionable. The degree of light filtered is so easy to personalize to individual taste. The chain mechanism works well and smoothly. Bought two of these for kitchen windows and am happy with the purchase. Make sure you minus an inch from the total width of the window frame to account for the draw chain. I have a fridge covering one of the windows but the draw chain was mounted on the right side where the fridge sits. I disassembled the blind and was able to swap sides from right to left, just have to pull up the draw chain instead of down but that’s no big deal. ... show more
