    • This one will take time to evaluate the longevity - perhaps the most significant factor.
This is one of the more difficult products to review due to several factors, the most significant is it's longevity. The 1-star deduction is due to the hose and fittings themselves feel "mediocre" in quality. They are not not brass fittings, while that doesn't mean they will leak- I have seen these bend by simply being stepped-upon by a person. Well machined aluminum and cared-for hose ends can last a long time. The included plumbers tape is not expected to be needed, but again time will tell. My initial hook-up from basement sink basin and to included sprayer nozzle had no leaks. There was minor drippage as I switched between sprayer settings, however the valve sealed and didn't leak when released. Again, in full disclosure... the sprayer feels like a very brittle plastic, the detent that locks it also feels weak... as in it won't firmly lock in positions as you turn it. If it lasts a full season, I will consider that a win. HOWEVER the hose itself... is interesting and the most unique thing! Unlike the fabric weave of most collapsible hoses, this hose has no fabric but claims 40 layers of "nano rubber" with 12 on the outermost layer, a layer of "leak proof mesh" and then an add'l 28 layers of nano runner at the core. The real test for me will be pine needles. I have several very large pine trees throughout my yard including one between the hose bib and driveway. That has been the death of many flexible hoses with cloth covering, the cloth will essentially hold the needles and as moving the hose or even expanding or contracting the needles puncture the inner liner. Then to complicate matters, the cloth seems to expand and contract independent of the liner; this making almost any form of patch unable to hold. I have tried tape, rubber cement, even a rubber raft patch with raft patch adhesive to no avail. I have connected, built pressure inside the hose with water pressure and moved it through/across some needless with no punctures or detectable leakage. This is the greatest factor I can foresee for the hose's longevity and thus overall value. I WILL update this review after a month or two of usage (It's early April in WI, real usage of the hose in the location will not begin until handwashing of cars or watering container gardens located on a distant section of the driveway - ONLY IF it does not perform well and hold-up under this usage. This is a vine review meaning the product was provided to be reviewed. This product is a 25 foot stainless steel hose with brass fittings. An adjustable plastic spray head and extra rubber gaskets are included. The product is packaged in a plastic Ziploc bag not suitable for gifting. Before ordering this product I searched the product description for the diameter of the hose to better understand its utility. For instance, a smaller Diameter hose is fine for watering a garden but is not suitable for attaching to a sprinkler to irrigate a lawn. Unfortunately, the product description does not specify the interior diameter of the product. I deducted one star for the omission of this key piece of information about the product. After receiving the hose and peering into the brass fixtures at the end of the hose, it is clear to me why the diameter of the hose was not mentioned in the product description. Using inside calipers I carefully measured the diameter of the water opening in the brass fixtures and it is only 9/32 of an inch. This is about the diameter of a wood pencil. See attached detailed photos of brass fixture opening with a wood pencil as a size reference. This hose will not have the high water flow necessary for lawn irrigation. It will be fine for hand watering a garden or small landscaping or other uses where a low water flow is suitable. In summary, be aware of the limitations of this product before you order it.
