  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great, no fuss mousepad
Size: Large Extended Color: White
Previous mousepad: I've been using Razers extended Mercury mousepad with the RGB around the edges and I loved it. The problem with that one is that it's nearly impossible to clean. I went through like 2-3 of them (one was a gift from my BF) and all of them got dirty so easily and were impossible to clean without damaging them. And as far as gamers go, I'm a lot more neurotic about being clean than some of my cheeto-finger comrades. This mousepad: It's great! I hesitated to buy it because I wasn't crazy about the black stitching around the edge, but honestly it's not so bad. My options were to get a pad with black stitching that's high quality, or get a cheap one with white/gray stitching and quality was more important to me, especially because I really want to be able to machine wash this one if needed. I can't speak to how well it washes up yet, but it seems really well put together so I don't think it will fall apart or anything p.s. yes, the mountain is real ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars So Much Quality for So Little
I do not normally leave product reviews, but this mouse pad and the company that makes it are so awesome that I felt it was my obligation to add to their small review count at the time of this post (17 reviews not including mine). Before I get into why I gave this product 5 stars anyone who is reading this review and is thinking "I don't know if I should buy this because I haven't heard of this company before" or "It looks good, but it only has a few reviews that is not statistically significant" then stop reading this or any other review, scroll up the page and buy this mouse pad. The quality for the price is just fantastic you can see quality stitching and the materials used to make the pad are not cheap knock offs like you would think. In fact I have used many other "gaming mouse pads" that claim to have superior fabrics, but all of them have fallen short of the quality of the material used to make this pad be it for gaming or just regular use. Oh and lets not forget that the other "gaming mouse pads" cost $10-15 more. I will start my review with a little about myself and what I use this mouse pad for to give you the idea of the punishment I put these things through in my quest to have fun. I play a lot of twitch shooters in fact I do it competitively with a clan (for those that do not know a clan in video games today is a collection of players who befriend one another and play team games together in a coordinated setting). Twitch shooters require constant fast motions with the mouse as I am pulling and pushing the mouse all over the pad extremely quickly in a very short period of time. As you can imagine that kind of repetitive motion creates a lot of friction and most mouse pads I have used become worn down rather quickly (within 2 weeks at best) which decreases the "glide" of the surface. The "glide" is very important to my aim in these games as if it changes or the surface becomes rougher my aim is then off by a bit which translates to me not twitching (twitching in a video game is the act of aiming and killing a target extremely quickly) as fast or hard as I would like because the surface has lost some of its "glide". This mouse pad has yet to lose its "glide" and in fact it hasn't even shown any signs of abuse despite the fact that I have abused it every night for the past 3 weeks which means it has lasted longer than any other mouse pad I have ever owned as far as maintaining its "glide" is concerned. For reference I have owned 3 Corsair mouse pads, 2 Razer mouse pads (including the Goliathus extended) and 5 cheap knockoffs (I tried to see if they were more cost effective, but they were not). An interesting fact about this mouse pad is that Corsair's mouse software for their M series mice actually rates this mouse pad surface a whole bar above their own pads. Meaning that Corsair software has openly admitted that this mouse pad has a better surface for their sensor then their own mouse pads! Having owned 3 Corsair mouse pads I agree with the software. Not to say that Corsair sells bad mouse pads, but that the equivalent mouse pad sold by them costs ~$17 more at the time of this review and yet preforms worse in every category when compared to this mouse pad. Here is a Pro's and Con's list because I love it when reviewers break it down into these they are easy to read and often very concise. Pro's 1.) The logo is awesome. 2.) The "glide" and surface quality is excellent and I dare say the best I have ever used. 3.) The quality of the material and stitching is above and beyond what $20 will normally get you in today's market. I have used mouse pads that cost upwards of $40 and this mouse pad blows them out of the water. 4.) It is washing machine friendly. Side note don't stick a mouse pad in the dryer its a terrible idea, just let it dry out in the sun or on a rack. 5.) The seller contacted me after purchase to collect some data, make sure the product came on time and was not defective. 6.) Seriously if you are reading this just go buy the mouse pad and stop worrying about your purchase you are in good hands. Con's 1.) No real Con's other than the urge to buy more things from this company as soon as they are available. 2.) The sudden and unexplainable urge to buy 2-4 more of their mouse pads just to stock up for the next 10 years. tl;dr- This product is of amazing quality and deserves your money. Trust. ... show more

Background: I've stated playing CS:GO more and more recently in lieu of other FPS titles that had caught my attention in the past, and I was in need of a larger mouse pad for the sensitivity required to effectively play CS. I have owned a SteelSeries QCK in the past; my first 'good' mouse pad. While nothing was inherently wrong with it, it was starting to fade in the center from my mouse. However, this was not my biggest issue. The QCK, while great tracking, was much too small for my sensitivity, 800 DPI with a 1.0 in-game in CS:GO. I kept either running out of space on the right, and running into my keyboard on the left. Also, nitpicking here, but the QCK had started to suffer from peeling of the fabric on the lower left of the pad, but it is minor at this time, and didn't initially bring me towards this mouse pad. About the Glorious XL Heavy: I love this thing. While I still run into my keyboard, I have been way less with this size of mouse pad. Because of the stitched edges, I will never have to worry about the edges fraying or peeling up from the base. In the relatively short time I've owned this mouse pad, so far no viable wear can be seen on the top surface; which is extremely smooth for a soft mouse pad. Even though the mouse pad came rolled in a box, it never kept it's rolled shape once I set it flat on a table. The mouse pad instantly flattened out to the contours of the table. The only few possible negatives I can think of are very minor: they include the decently sized logo in the bottom right corner, and the quality of the stitching. When mousing over the logo the mouse noticeably slows down, but the tracking on my Logitech G502 stays consistent over the logo. When I mean the stitching's quality isn't great, that isn't entirely true. The bulk of the stitching feels like stitching should, and isn't too bulky to where the mouse pad noticeably rises at the edges and can move around. However, I can tell the exact point where the stitching started and stopped, as there is noticeable imperfections in the pattern of the stitching in those sites. Pros: - Price: Not so much that a prospective buyer is scared away, not too low that one might think this is a deal too good to be true - Overall Feel: The first impressions of this mouse pad as I took it out of the packaging were great. The bottom feels great, stitching (for the most part) looks good and consistent, the logo is decently detailed and small enough for me, and the smoothness of the top was phenomenal. - Surface: No tracking imperfections, and the texture is extremely fine. Flick shots with the AWP are effortless (aside for the weight of the mouse), and my mouse's feet will survive much longer on this mouse pad than they might've on my QCK - Thickness/Plushness: There is no doubt; this is a thick mouse pad. It is even in the title. This might detract from the appeal for some, but it was a must have for me. This thing in extremely comfortable to mouse on, and will even out any uneven surfaces I'll ever encounter. Cons: - Logo: While I think the logo's size and grippiness is a moot point, I can see how for some this is a big issue. The resistance is much more over the logo, and many have reported mouse tracking wigging out over this point. Also, the logo might even be a little too much for some. - Stitching Imperfections: While I have stated above that the stitching is overall really good, the noticeable bump where the stitching has started and stopped is annoying to me more than anything. This was the first negative I have encountered with this mouse pad, and I encountered it while taking it out of the packaging. This is a first impression issue. While it doesn't effect the usefulness of the mouse pad, it will effect the wide-spread use of the pad Overall, I will end up using this mouse pad until the end of it's effective cycle, and then consider buying another; if still in production. However, the logo and stitching imperfections may be too big of a deal for others. ... show more
