  • Finally found the Perfect, Oversized Mousepad to Suit My Picky Needs...
Size: Large Extended Color: Black
I purchased the Glorious Extended Gaming Mouse Pad / Mat about 3 weeks prior to writing this review. For reference, I purchased the Long Black Cloth Mousepad with Stitched Edges | 11"x36" (G-E) . There are several different size options, as well as a white version. TLDR - This is the perfect mouse pad/mat at an unbelievably low price considering it's quality, suitability for my specific needs, and brand reputation. I'll begin by explaining what I have been looking for in a mouse pad, yet unable to find. Size: I write a lot, by hand, and I type on a large, mechanical, Corsair keyboard just as much. I tend to position the keyboard at the back of the desk (not the most ergonomic probably) so that I can do both writing and typing as needed without having to move stuff around. I also use a wired gaming-type mouse, and again, prefer to have it to the right of the kb, with plenty of space to move around. I do game, but casually, and I come from a console gaming life, so I still need to use a controller for just about any WASD type game but for puzzle, sim, management type games. Glide: The material is perfect for me because of the above. Some of the pads I've tried (and returned) were way too slick for me, and ultimately didn't allow for fine control when I need it. The Glorious Mouse Pad has the perfect balance of smoothness and slight texture. Weight / Flatness: This pad is not very thick, visually, yet somehow it feels weighty, and I've had absolutely no issues with movement. This is probably also due to the grip. When I took it out of the box, unrolled it and placed it under my KB, it flattened itself almost immediately and hasn't moved since. Going back to size, I was shocked that it fit perfectly between my lamp and monitor stand. There is one small ripple in the rear, but I think that's because of my cable management, and having a zip-tie hook on the back edge of the desk in that spot. Stitching/Material: Again, perfect balance of smoothness and texture. I've tried others that made that same claim, but they either had ripple issues and/or were too slick. The stitching is perfect, no frays or issues. Also, it's not bulky in proportion to the thickness of the mat. Cleaning: I haven't really cleaned it yet, except for wiping it with a dry cloth. Some of the specks seen in the picures are likely due to my eraser dust, as I use pencil for much of my writing. Also, because of where it sits on the desk, it's not handled much. I don't and would not use it for a coaster, and generally don't place anything on it. Overall: I was amazed to finally find a mat that is the perfect size/weight/quality for my needs, and blown away by the low price. Again, because of my needing half the depth of the desk for writing, and wanting a pad that both my KB and mouse can freely sit on, this size is perfect. I was not sure what to expect in terms of material/glide and flatness, but I'm overly impressed with this mat. It seems funny to put so much concern in something many would view as trivial, right? But if you use a PC, and/or have specific needs/use cases, it's important to finally find what you need. The low price (compared to most others) was the shocking bonus. ... show more

  • Large, Smooth, and Stiched
Background: I've stated playing CS:GO more and more recently in lieu of other FPS titles that had caught my attention in the past, and I was in need of a larger mouse pad for the sensitivity required to effectively play CS. I have owned a SteelSeries QCK in the past; my first 'good' mouse pad. While nothing was inherently wrong with it, it was starting to fade in the center from my mouse. However, this was not my biggest issue. The QCK, while great tracking, was much too small for my sensitivity, 800 DPI with a 1.0 in-game in CS:GO. I kept either running out of space on the right, and running into my keyboard on the left. Also, nitpicking here, but the QCK had started to suffer from peeling of the fabric on the lower left of the pad, but it is minor at this time, and didn't initially bring me towards this mouse pad. About the Glorious XL Heavy: I love this thing. While I still run into my keyboard, I have been way less with this size of mouse pad. Because of the stitched edges, I will never have to worry about the edges fraying or peeling up from the base. In the relatively short time I've owned this mouse pad, so far no viable wear can be seen on the top surface; which is extremely smooth for a soft mouse pad. Even though the mouse pad came rolled in a box, it never kept it's rolled shape once I set it flat on a table. The mouse pad instantly flattened out to the contours of the table. The only few possible negatives I can think of are very minor: they include the decently sized logo in the bottom right corner, and the quality of the stitching. When mousing over the logo the mouse noticeably slows down, but the tracking on my Logitech G502 stays consistent over the logo. When I mean the stitching's quality isn't great, that isn't entirely true. The bulk of the stitching feels like stitching should, and isn't too bulky to where the mouse pad noticeably rises at the edges and can move around. However, I can tell the exact point where the stitching started and stopped, as there is noticeable imperfections in the pattern of the stitching in those sites. Pros: - Price: Not so much that a prospective buyer is scared away, not too low that one might think this is a deal too good to be true - Overall Feel: The first impressions of this mouse pad as I took it out of the packaging were great. The bottom feels great, stitching (for the most part) looks good and consistent, the logo is decently detailed and small enough for me, and the smoothness of the top was phenomenal. - Surface: No tracking imperfections, and the texture is extremely fine. Flick shots with the AWP are effortless (aside for the weight of the mouse), and my mouse's feet will survive much longer on this mouse pad than they might've on my QCK - Thickness/Plushness: There is no doubt; this is a thick mouse pad. It is even in the title. This might detract from the appeal for some, but it was a must have for me. This thing in extremely comfortable to mouse on, and will even out any uneven surfaces I'll ever encounter. Cons: - Logo: While I think the logo's size and grippiness is a moot point, I can see how for some this is a big issue. The resistance is much more over the logo, and many have reported mouse tracking wigging out over this point. Also, the logo might even be a little too much for some. - Stitching Imperfections: While I have stated above that the stitching is overall really good, the noticeable bump where the stitching has started and stopped is annoying to me more than anything. This was the first negative I have encountered with this mouse pad, and I encountered it while taking it out of the packaging. This is a first impression issue. While it doesn't effect the usefulness of the mouse pad, it will effect the wide-spread use of the pad Overall, I will end up using this mouse pad until the end of it's effective cycle, and then consider buying another; if still in production. However, the logo and stitching imperfections may be too big of a deal for others. ... show more

  • Good Hybrid Pad
Size: X-Large Color: White
1.) Logo doesn't feel protrusive, barely noticable. 2.)The white is a cool white, so kind of like a super light grey, but it will get greyer with use from overtime staining and build up. 3.) Cleaning is ok, you have to use elbow grease to really get the dirt out of it from use. Almost like scrapping. But, air dries in 12-18 hours quickly. 4.) As dirt builds up of 2-4 weeks of heavy use, i turn my pad around to use the other side more, as you will notice mouse speeds slow from extra drag. 5.) Edges have a nice knit and feel soft, but from cleaning and just overtime dragging your wrist over it, will fray. I would say it's good for 3-4 cleaning, and if using for heavy use and don't mind flipping the mouse pad upsidedown, it will probably last the average gamer, 8-10 months max. The actual quality of the pad is nice; if it was always new. It's slick, but not too slick, so good for high or low DPI players. No problems with my wireless mouse. The memory foam or whatever it is doesn't get hot that I have noticed, and it is not too thin that you get sore or too thick it is uncomfortable. So it is good, for if you lean your weight pressure into your mouse and into the pad you can manually increase the drag to slow down your actions like for sniping, then going back to regular light touches for normal movement and game play. Good not perfect. ... show more
